Dr. J. Reena Benjamin is an HOD of ECE department in Narayanaguru College of Engineering, Kanyakumari. She did B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in 2001 and Master of Engineering in Communication Systems from Anna University, Chennai in 2006. She received her Ph.D. degree from Anna University, Chennai in 2021. She is a member of the Institute for Engineering Research and Publication (IFERP) and Institute of Research Engineers and Doctors (IRED). Her current research interests are Medical Imaging, Signal Processing, and Pattern Recognition. She has published papers in both international and national journals.

Our faculties are responsible for creating a student's future. It makes them become better human beings and guides them in extracurricular activities. A teacher instills in students information, good values, tradition, modern-day issues, and solutions. 

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with students and fellow faculty?

We always maintain healthy relations with students at all times. Our campus plays a vital role for student's professional and intellectual growth. We formulate academic interactions for students with professors. Academic connections demonstrated to have a variety of good consequences includes increased achievement, motivation, and learning. Faculties focus on making a positive first impression and Communicate regularly. We always support everyone and show respect. 

How do you bring a practical approach towards subjects as industry oriented at Narayanaguru College of Engineering, Kanyakumari?

“Promotes Self-learning, and gives Strong Memory Aid for students”

We promote self-learning and adopt a practical approach. A student mentality gradually develops through it. Confidence levels are increased by this method of actual learning. Learning through experience is a strong memory aid. Good memories come from experience and practice. Many pupils struggle with memorization and slow learners in theoretical education. Practical education makes students understand the concepts at a different level.

Our department develops course plans with objectives and outcomes. We evaluate the learning styles of the students through tests. “To educate students professionally and strengthen industry-institute interaction”

Our primary vision is for overall personality development, to culminate the institute into an international seat of excellence. We educate the students to transform as professionally competent and quality-conscious engineers. It is necessary to implement Effective Teaching–Learning practices and increase the percentage of campus placements. We help students with personality development and career guidance.
