What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Being able to contribute in growing the intellectual capital of our country motivates me”

I strongly believe that “a class engaged to the satisfaction of students gives immense joy and pleasure than any other thing in the world”. Education should bring holistic development in students and build their character morally. It’s all about inspiring them, making them more knowledgeable, thoughtful, and innovative. Also, making them more responsible towards society. The teaching profession is the only one that provides an opportunity to bring these transformational changes to students.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

A leader should be a good listener and should have compassion towards team members”

A leader is the one who leads from the front and makes others follow by influencing, inspiring, supporting and encouraging others.

“Praise Publicly and Admonish Privately” is one dictum that I follow in letter and spirit. Rather than making a decision on my own, I listen to the opinion of others and analyze their views. I create a comfort zone for my co-employees so that they express their views without any reservations.

How do you plan for the academic strategies of your college?

“Preparation of a detailed academic calendar before the commencement of a semester”

The calendar includes schedules of mid-term examinations, laboratory examinations, semester-end examinations, Sots for conducting FDPs, etc. The student-centric activities such as workshops, guest lectures, Industrial Visits, Schedules of Training sessions are also planned well ahead. The targets are set for every academic activity that we plan to conduct. Regular monitoring ensures conducting of these activities as per the plan.

  • Increasing the placements of students.

In what way have you made your academic practices more student-centric?

By changing from the rote-learning mechanism to flexible innovative teaching methods”

Ever since our college became autonomous, we had more flexibility in designing our own curriculum. Paving the way for the introduction of new courses in emerging areas and courses that improve the employability opportunities of students. We focus more on collaborative learning, project-based learning, and experiential learning. Understanding the importance of training the students in core areas, two Centers of Excellence, one in VLSI Design and the other in Embedded Systems and IoT were started in 2019. Training is imparted to the students with experts from the industry.
