Can you tell me about your educational background? (Total year of teaching experience, year of experience in this university, graduation/PG details etc.)

I am Dr. Prateek Mishra Director APIIT INDIA, PANIPAT and I have 22 years of teaching experience. I have done M.Tech(CS), P.HD.(CS)

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Prior to the Designation of Director, I was Associate Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science. I was also head of Corporate Relation Centre at APIIT SD INDIA, Panipat. Keeping an open mind and learning how to think correctly can be closely linked. Many students decide to continue their studies abroad and they have a harder time adjusting because of cultural shock, as they are not educated enough to be open-minded. Teaching students open-mindedness and showing them a variety of cultures teaches them how to think more effectively in these situations helping them avoid cultural shock. Self-reliance will teach students how to become more independent from their parents after graduation, it can be in the sense of economic independence.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

"My Philosophy of leadership is “ Jo Nahi ho sakta wahi to karna hai”

My Style of leadership is Estimate, Plan and Execute and get ready for sudden change first time, on time, all time. Leadership is an important function of management which helps an individual or a business to maximize efficiency and achieve goals. For me, a leader is in a position to shape, regulate, control and change the attitudes, behaviour and performance of his group members. I think Leadership style is never fixed, it varies with the situation. A person with the same traits may adopt an autocratic style of leadership in one situation and democratic style in another situation. My leadership styles include authoritative, coaching, coercive, charismatic, democratic, innovative and control.

Our Institute's top priority is producing skilled manpower as per market demands. Technology and Innovation: Institutions could prioritize the use of technology and innovation to improve their operations, enhance their products or services, and better serve their stakeholders. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Institutions could prioritize creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment, where all individuals feel valued and supported, and have access to the same opportunities and resources.

Social Responsibility: Institutions could prioritize social responsibility by contributing to their local communities, promoting positive social change, and advocating for social justice.

Health and Wellness: Institutions could prioritize the health and wellness of their stakeholders, by promoting healthy habits, offering wellness programs, and ensuring a safe and healthy working or learning environment.

Education and Research: Institutions could prioritize their education and research missions, by investing in academic programs, faculty, research facilities, and partnerships that promote excellence, innovation, and impact. These are just a few of the many possible priorities that institutions could focus

When you first came to your institute, what was your vision for the university? Has it evolved over time, and how far along in implementing that vision are you?

I joined this institute as an Associate professor with a single aim to skill up students and now Institute alumni are value adding in various private and government sectors around the globe.

What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

APIIT SD INDIA is the Training institute rather than solely teaching.

Successful colleges are those that have the ability to maximize the learning potential of all students in their colleges. Developing a positive relationship between teachers and students is a fundamental aspect of quality teaching and student learning. Positive college-student relationships promote a sense of college belonging and encourage students to participate cooperatively. Students develop confidence to experiment and succeed in an environment where they are not restricted by the fear of failure. To tend to the relationship with students, I think, the most important thing is harmonious classrooms that can assist with the development of creativity as well as reduce anxiety levels amongst students.

What do you see as University’s greatest strengths?

Resources: Institutions often have access to a wide range of resources, including financial resources, technology, human resources, and networks of partnerships. These resources can help them to effectively carry out their mission and achieve their goals.
