You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

I have been working in the professional education field for the last 22 Years. I have explored many reputed institutions in various states.


Being the Principal of Ambala college of Engineering and Applied Research, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

The philosophy of my leadership is to make learning outcome-based learning. With my opinion every student has something special to contribute to address societal issues for a sustainable life.


Being the President/VC of Ambala college of Engineering and Applied Research, how do you strategize about the key programs and planswer for the marketing and administration of your school?

To make a live environment professional as well as cultural activities must be organized in the institutions. These keep us conscious in the public eyes which in turn add to our marketing edge and effective administration.


The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

Our approach for the students is to encourage the holistic development of students. With classroom teaching we encourage hands- on practice in every aspect. 


How does the curriculum of Ambala college of Engineering and Applied Research ensure the best practice of industry?

The curriculum of my institutions is basically designed by the Kurukshetra University. However, we have highly effective pedagogies to cover up all basic and technical. We normally organize extended lectures, industrial visits in order to ensure that students are taught as per the industry requirement. 


Any insights into how your college could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

In our institution the economic and racial issues have no reflection on the functioning. Uniform policies have been formed for staff as well as students. 


What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the college and the students are?

My role in the institution is to facilitate the students and staff with ultimate infrastructure, dynamic faculty and trainers. I also motivate the students from time to time.


What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?

My top priority is to make my students industry ready and inculcate professional ethics so that they become successful engineers as well as entrepreneurs.

When you first came to Ambala college of Engineering and Applied Research, what was your vision for the college? Has it evolved over time, and how far along in implementing that vision are you?

The innovations and research are the basic models in the institution on which any institute should work continually. In my tenure these parameters are taken care of utmost attention. 


What would you like people to know about your college they may not know?

The life on campus and the eagerness of students all around.


What do you see as Ambala college of Engineering and Applied Research college’s greatest strengths?

The available faculties, infrastructural facilities like life sized laboratories, high tech incubation center and continuous upgradation are the features of my institution. We encourage students to become job providers instead of job seekers. 


What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for Ambala college of Engineering and Applied Research specifically?

The losing of focus in students for their right career is matter of concern. The willing to immigrate in western countries is a serious issue which we are addressing in our institution.


Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

Students need to learn about the useful part of recent devices instead of being a slave of these otherwise helpful.

To stay competitive, students must regularly learn about national and international events and take part in such activities for their development.


How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your institute?

All entities must preserve healthy relationships, which are a necessary phenomena. Every time we work to improve the institution, we always try to work together.

Responsibilities handled

  • Chairperson of the Proctorial Committee to prevent ragging.
  • Responsible for campus discipline of the students and coordinated the same with the hostel wardens.
  • Plan and organize various co- and extracurricular activities and create interest groups of students.
  • Schedule and preparation of budgets and provision of funds.
  • Analyze placement data to gather an understanding for future trends and articulate needs for institute level 

planning and budgeting.

  • Regularly meet with head of departments/TPO to solicit the expertise in placement activities with regard to 

initializing and planning for future activities

  • Build relationships with Alumni through seminars, annual meets, etc.
  • Act as Institute-Industry interface including publicity, news bulletins, brochure preparation/distribution 
  • plan for accommodation of parents and family members of students during Admission, Convocation. 
  • Develop policies for various academic and administrative activities (academic policy, placement policy, IT 

policy, IP policy, student affairs policy, recruitment policy, etc.)

  • to identify industry/institutions for collaboration and approve MoUs for collaborations.
  • to recommend to the appropriate authority short time contract/ temporary appointments (1-2 years) for 

faculty / staff.

  • Advise various administrative matters that may have long term impact.
  • Prepare a system to manage data for various rankings, inspections and accreditation.
  • Develop a long term model for the institution and working for realizing this vision in close association with
