Ambala College of Engineering offers B.Tech program in four specializations. A good score in JEE Main is required to secure admission in this program. For B.Tech lateral entry admissions, candidates must have passed Diploma in Engineering with at least 45% aggregate marks and appear for OLET LEET.
JEE Main exam is conducted online by CBSE. OLET LEET is the online Lateral Entry Test conducted by Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES). It is a state level entrance to offer admission in B.Tech under Lateral Entry scheme in various colleges. The admission is based on the inter se rank obtained in OLET.

- There is a relaxation of 5% marks in 10+2 and Diploma for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category.
- For B.Tech, candidates must have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any of the following Chemistry/Biology/Bio Technology and Computer Science.
- For B.Tech in Biotechnology, Physics and Biology are compulsory subjects in 10+2.
- For B.Tech lateral entry program, HSTES approved Diploma degree is mandatory. Candidates with diploma in engineering from an AICTE approved institution or B.Sc degree from a UGC recognized university are also eligible for this course
