University of Amsterdam Campus

The University of Amsterdam has four open city campuses- Quarter Campus, Science Park, Amsterdam Medical Centre, and Roeterseiland Campus.

  • Amsterdam UMC consists of teaching hospitals of the UvA (AMC) and the VU University (VUmc). UvA medical students learn the profession by working alongside doctors, nurses and patients at the AMC location in Amsterdam South-east.

University of Amsterdam Programs

The University of Amsterdam has seven academic divisions: dentistry, economics and business, humanities, law, medicine, science, and social and behavioral sciences. University of Amsterdam Scholarships

The University of Amsterdam offers a number of scholarships to its international students who have a strong academic background, expertise, ambition, and a strong interest in the program of study. Some scholarships cover the full tuition fee and others provide a fixed amount. Student applications can be sent to the graduate school admissions offices.

  • Amsterdam Excellence Scholarship: The scholarship is meant for outstanding international students enrolled in UvA. The award value is 25000 EUR for a maximum of 2 years duration. 
  • Amsterdam Merit Scholarship: International students enrolled in various departments of University of Amsterdam are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship amount is equal to the tuition fee + €5,000 additional allowance

A: It is best to be selected in the first round, as it would give you more options related to courses and destinations. Courses and Destinations in the second and third round are lesser than the first round.

Q: Can I be selected for an Exchange program with 100 ECTs credit?

A: Students in UvA must have 120 ECTs Credit for being a beginner at the exchange program.

But if you are Student at the Faculty of Economics and Business, you need to have just 90 ECTs credits to be a beginner at the exchange.

Overview

I did an internship in Germany during my bachelor studies. I liked the lifestyle in Europe, the scientific vigor of the UvA, and the group that I joined is world-famous for molecular simulations. It was an overall perfect fit for my personal and professional requirements.

Dutch education is known to be the best in the world beating even US and UK. Getting admission to the University of Amsterdam was easy however the course is really intense and taught exactly the way it should be. The faculty is passionate and approachable. To pursue a Ph.D program at the University of Amsterdam, you must submit a request for admission. Doctoral research can only take place under the supervision of a professor associated with the university. You cannot take your application further until a professor has agreed to take you on as a Ph.D candidate.
