Saarland University offers a Master's degree programme in one of today's most dynamic and expanding technical fields: Computer and Communications Engineering. The objective of the programme, which has been developed jointly by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Mechatronics, is to give students a comprehensive understanding of the modern technologies deployed in today's mobile communications systems.
Mobile phones and anytime-anywhere wireless internet access are examples of developments in the field of computer and communications engineering that have had and continue to have a huge impact on the economy and on our private lives. Developing and exploiting new technologies requires a breadth of knowledge and a range of technical skills in such areas as designing the architecture for digital communication systems, circuit design, antenna engineering, signal processing and the optimization of digital transmissions, processing spoken signals and designing multimodal user interfaces.
