Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the GET scholarship, you need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria: 

  • Age: Applicants should be under the age of 30 years at the time of application 
  • Citizenship: You need to be a resident of India with a valid passport 
  • Minimum Qualification: Should have completed graduation from a recognized Indian University 
    • The applicant should have an unexceptional academic record and extra-curricular achievements 
  • Admission Evidence: A proof of enrollment or an unconditional admission letter for any PG course from any of the recognized UK universities beginning in the fall semester (September/October) 

Application Process

The application process of Goa Education Trust Scholarships is quite easy and straightforward. It is a simple four-step procedure that ensures that you have successfully submitted all the necessary documents before the set deadline.

For your reference, the four-step Goa Education Trust scholarship application process is given below:

  • Step 1: Download the scholarship application from the official website of the British Council.
  • Step 2: Complete the downloaded form in the word format and insert a scanned copy of a recent passport-size photograph in the relevant section.
  • Step 3: You are required to provide proof of certain aspects such as age, address, etc. Therefore, you have to gather the following documents:
    • Copy of birth certificate to confirm your age
    • Copy of passport identification page to confirm your address
    • Copy of conditional/unconditional admission letter of a UK university.
    • One academic and one professional reference letter
  • Step 4: Once you have completed all the three steps listed above, you have to mail the entire application package (application form, supporting documents, photographs) to the British Council.

You can mail your application package either via email or by post. Those who want to send an email must ensure that their scanned application package is not exceeding 10 MB.

It is important to note that any application submitted without supplementary document(s) will be automatically rejected. Moreover, you are requested not to send any additional reference letters or supplementary documents.


Selection Process

Post application deadline, the selection panel from the British Council of India reviews each application on the basis of: 

  • Academic qualification 
  • References 
  • Extra-curricular achievements 

Once the application evaluation process is complete, a list of shortlisted students is compiled. Thereafter, if you are amongst the shortlisted students, you will be called for an interview session. Recipients are selected based on their interview and overall profile.

All students must note that even though the scholarship scheme is open for all Indian students, preference is still given to Goan students.
