Field of Study:
- Over the course of the programme, students can specialize in areas that reflect their abilities or particular fields of interest.
- The areas of specialization offered are:
- production systems,
- systems design,
- microsystems engineering,
- sensor-actuator systems,
- information and communication systems
- and integrated systems.
- Teaching modules cover subject matter in the areas informatics, materials science and materials engineering, and economics. Lab courses, practical assignments and seminars are used to make sure that students are actively integrated in research and development projects early on.
- Students can complete their Master's thesis project in one of the research groups in the department, or at one of the research institutes or industrial partners, either at home or abroad, with which the programme cooperates.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants should have a bachelor's degree from a German university or an equivalent degree from a foreign university in a systems engineering course or a related subject (in particular in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and information technology, microsystems technology or mechatronics),
- sufficient language skills (usually level B2 according to the European framework of reference or comparable or better) depending on the specialization in German and / or English and
- proves the particular suitability. Criteria for the determination of the special suitability are the achievements in the previous academic career, proven by the overall grade of the bachelor's degree of "good" (2.5) or better, or with significant consideration of the overall grade documented in the form of qualified reports or by two Examiners appointed by the examination board in the field of mechatronics determined special suitability in an oral hearin
