The forecast for natural disasters and the efficient search for raw materials are becoming increasingly important for mankind.
Geophysics contributes to the understanding of the processes that lead to the occurrence of earthquakes, for example, or helps to estimate opportunities and risks in the extraction of raw materials.
The research-oriented master's program in geophysics imparts knowledge, skills, and practice in the fields of "natural hazards and extreme events" and "geophysical exploration processes and raw materials".

There are no tuition fees for students. Only Semester contribution fee.

There is no tuition fees. The semester fee for the winter semester 2019/20 is € 328.00.

Following are the admission requirements for this program :

Degree in the consecutive bachelor's degree in geophysics/oceanography from the University of Hamburg or a comparable degree from a university
Degree in another mathematical-physical degree course, in which comparable academic achievements were achieved with the consecutive bachelor's degree program in geophysics/oceanography.
