Data science is concerned with gaining knowledge from data. For this purpose, methods of mathematics, computer science, and statistics are combined with knowledge from an application area. The Göttingen Master’s Applied Data Science is characterized in particular by its interdisciplinary profile. You will acquire advanced knowledge of the central methods of data science as well as train their use in an application area. You currently have the choice between the application areas of Computational Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, Medical Data Science, and Digital Humanities.

Further areas of application are under construction. In the research-oriented master’s course, you will learn to further develop and communicate scientific methods and findings within the framework of your own research projects. In addition, you will acquire competencies in the ethical discussion of the data used and the consequences of extensive data collection, and the decision-making processes based on it. In addition, the course offers you opportunities for internships and cooperation with business partners.
