WBJEE Cut off is released separately for All India and Home-state candidates. WBJEE Cut off 2022 for Computer Science at Jadavpur University was 7 and 61 for General category All India (AI) and Home State (HS) candidates respectively. WBJEE Cutoff Types
Three types of WBJEE 2023 cutoff are there:
- Eligibility Cutoff: The eligibility cutoff is the minimum score required for WBJEE. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with a 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and other major subjects to be eligible for WBJEE 2023.
- Qualifying Cutoff: The qualifying cutoff is the minimum marks required to pass the examination. Candidates who want to get admission to colleges in West Bengal have to clear this cutoff.
- Admission Cutoff: Participating colleges will carry out the admission rounds based on WBJEE qualifying marks and merit. The branch-wise and category-wise opening rank and closing rank will be released by the institutes.
Factors Affecting WBJEE Cutoff 2023
WBJEEB does not consider class 12 marks for calculating WBJEE ranks. This simply means that aspirants must perform better in the entrance exam for securing a good rank. The Board will decide WBJEE Cutoff 2023 on the following basis:
- Number of students who appear for the exam
- Level of difficulty of the exam
- Total number of seats available
- Based on the papers that appear in WBJEE 2023 followed by marks scored by candidates, the Board prepares two merit lists namely GMR and PMR.
WBJEE Cutoff Score Calculation
The calculation of WBJEE 2023 follows the below-marking scheme. The scores are calculated by adding the total number of correct answers and subtracting the incorrect answers. This calculation varies for every category.
Category 1:
- Only 1 option is correct.
- The questions are of 1 mark.
- ¼ will be deducted on choosing incorrect answers.
Category 2:
- Only 1 option is correct.
- The questions are of 2 marks.
- ½ mark will be deducted on choosing the wrong answer.
Category 3:
- 1 or more options may be correct.
- 2 marks will be rewarded for each correct answer.
Partially correct answer: total marks = 2 X ( number of correct options/ total number of correct options).
