NATA Counselling 2023: Dates, Schedule, Admission Procedure

 NATA Counselling 2023 will be done for shortlisted candidates based on their score in the entrance exam to offer admission in B.Arch program of architectural institutes. Council of Architecture, conducting body for NATA  will not hold any common counselling process. Candidates who want to get admission in B.Arch courses have to apply separately offered based on NATA scores. CoA will announce NATA Result 2023 tentatively in the 1st week of May 2023.

  • Candidates who score minimum aggregate qualifying marks and section wise minimum marks will qualify for counselling.
  • Also, it is advised that candidates must bring all required documents and their photocopies for the verification process. 
  • There are more than 470 NATA Participating Colleges that offer admission to Undergraduate Architecture program. 
NATA 2023 Counselling Procedure

Candidate needs to undergo Counselling Process for the institute in which he/she wishes to apply. During the Counselling, a candidate needs to register and fill the choice of seats. Once the choice filling is over, the document verification process will start. Candidates must carry class 10th and 12th mark sheets along with NATA 2023 scorecard for verification.

Additional documents like reservation certificate and date of birth certificate must also be carried to the counselling center. A candidate is required to report to their allocated institute with the necessary documents.

Admissions to Institutions through NATA 2023

  • It must be noted that appearing for the entrance test and obtaining a valid Score Card doesn’t entitle to admissions in various Architecture colleges. NATA is just a centralized aptitude test for admission to Architecture course.
  • Any institute that is recognized by AICTE must obtain approval of CoA (Council of Architecture). Thus, NATA 2023 is the compulsory exam as per the guidelines given by CoA.
  • Appear for the state university exam or the exam conducted by the particular university along with the National Aptitude Test for admissions.
  • Candidate must obtain a valid score card in both. The total score of the candidate will be calculated by considering 50% marks from the State Board/ any other qualifying examination with Mathematics as one subject and 50% marks obtained in the Architecture Entrance Exam.
  • Candidate is required to contact the institutes personally for admissions in case no other qualifying examination is required apart from National Aptitude Test in Architecture.
  • Candidate must carry Class 10th and 12th Mark sheets separately along with the printout of the NATA 2023 scorecard to the Institute for admission to the architecture program.
  • NATA 2023 Score Card is considered valid only if the candidate scores a minimum of 25% marks i.e. 50/200 in exam.

Document Required for NATA Counselling 2023

There is a certain set of documents that a candidate has to carry at the time of NATA Counselling. The list is general and it is suggested to check with the respective institutes or counselling authorities before attending the counselling process. Listed below are the important documents to be carried at the time of counselling:

  • NATA Admit Card 2023
  • Class 12th Marks Sheet and Certificate
  • Class 10th Certificate
  • NATA Score Card 2023
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Medical Certificate for PwD Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/Special category candidates)

Reservation in Admission Through NATA 2023

Admissions through NATA 2023 are carried out by the competent authority i.e. Government or University, or such Authorities/Institutions Concerned (School/College of Architecture)/ Association or federation of Institutions (Schools/College of Architecture) as approved by the Government/University.

No reservation policy based on categories is followed. Central and State government reservations are given to the candidate on the basis of the exam conducted by the State Government Agencies/Universities which offer the program reservation during NATA 2023 Admission are pure as per the Central/State government agencies.

How to Download NATA Score Card?

NATA 2023 Score is available on the official website in e-format. Candidate must note that the scorecard obtained is valid for the same academic session. Following are the four simple steps to be followed to download Results:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NATA i.e. nata.nic.in

Step 2: Mention the detail asked i.e. Candidate ID created during Registration (Application Number and Password)

Step 3: Enter the captcha code in the provided blank field.

Step 4: Click on the Download button to download the NATA 2023 scorecard.

NATA Counselling FAQs

Ques. Is the eligibility criteria any different for candidates of a reserved category?

Ans. No. And no score waiver for NATA during admission if you belong to a certain quota. However, candidates applying for NATA 2023 have to pay INR 2000 (inclusive of the service fee charged by the bank)  and for SC/ ST candidates the application fee is INR 1700.

Ques. Can foreign students take the test from their country of residence?

Ans. No. Candidates are required to select test centers in close proximity to their residence or as per their convenience in India. However, a candidate who will opt for Dubai as their test center will have to pay an additional fee of INR 8000. NATA 2023 will be held across 135 cities in India and 1 abroad.

Ques. Does Council of Architecture conducts Common Counselling Process for NATA?

Ans. NATA is only an aptitude test. A candidate may apply for admission to any of the participating institutions, on receiving the scorecard (will be available on NATA website in e-format by July 2023) as per the time scheduled by the respective authorities.

Ques. What is the passing score at NATA 2023 as per COA admission guidelines?

Ans. As per COA admission guidelines, a candidate seeking admission into an architecture college in India must clear the NATA test by securing a minimum of 40% or 80/200.

Ques. Can I reappear for NATA 2023?

Ans. Yes, a candidate can appear in any one or both the sessions of NATA 2023. Given they fulfill the eligibility criteria. Candidates are allowed to submit best of the two scores for final consideration.
