  • Candidates who are allotted seats through KCET Seat Allotment need to download their allotment letter from KEA website- kea.kar.nic.in using their login credentials. The allotment letter includes details such as the allotted college, reporting date, etc.

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of KCET- cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/cet.
  • Step 2: Click on the link for KCET seat allotment .
  • Step 3: Enter your CET number and other required details.
  • Step 4: Click on “Submit”.
  • Step 5: The result of seat allotment will be displayed.

  • KCET Seat Allotment  is the last step of the counselling process.
  • During KCET seat allotment , candidates will be allotted seats according to their ranking in the merit and the choice of college and courses filled by them.
  • KCET seat allotment  will be conducted in two or more rounds, depending on the candidate.
  • Candidates need to log in to the official portal to download their admission/seat allotment letter.
  • Candidates who are allotted seats in KCET Seat Allotment  need to report at the allotted institute with the verification slip, secret key and the printout of the admission/seat allotment letter.

KCET Mock Seat Allotment

  • KEA first releases a Mock Seat Allotment of KCET soon after the choice filling process is over.
  • Candidates must note that KCET mock seat allotment is not the final allotment. The Institute and course allotted in the mock allotment may differ from that of the real allotment round. KCET Mock Seat Allotment is conducted for the knowledge of seat allotment process to the candidates.
  • After the announcement of mock allotment result, the candidates will be able to modify, update, add or delete options according to how they wish to be alloted.
  • Candidates are not required to report at the allotted institute after the mock seat allotment round.

KCET Seat Allotment Phases

Round 1 First phase of seat allotment begins based on the merit and priority of options by candidates. If a candidate who is allotted seat in the second round after the allotment of seat in the first round, then the first round allotment will stand cancel. As soon as the last seat and rank are allotted, the seat allotment process ends.
Round 2 Similar process as the round one. In case, after the first round conclusion, there are still unfilled seats left under Rural and Kannada Medium quota reserved categories then these seats will be converted into the General reserved categories. 
Round 3 The remaining unfilled seats under General reserved categories, with reserved special category seats, will be converted to the General merit category and will be offered to the candidates of that category.

KCET Seat Allotment : Choice Filling Guidelines

The applicant, if allotted a seat in the first round of KCET Counselling , will get a chance to fill choice. It is a must for a qualified candidate to fill the choice as, if doesn’t select any of the choices then his/her allotment will be stand cancelled. Mentioned below are the choices that candidate get to fill.

After the first round of seat allotment, if a candidate is with the allotted seat then he/she will have pay tuition fee either through online or challan.

After the payment of the fee, the admission order can be downloaded from the official website.

This is given to those candidates who are satisfied with the allotted seat but also wishes to participate in the next round of counselling for higher options. In case the candidate is not allotted seat in the next round, his/her allotted seat in the first round will still be available.

Candidates opting for second round of counselling inspite of getting seat in first round should not pay fee for the allotted seat in the first round.

Candidates should not even download the admission order nor report to the allotted college.

If a candidate is allotted with the higher-order options, in such case seat allotted in first round automatically stands cancel. 

In case candidate is not allotted with higher-order option, then the seat allotted in the first round will remain.

There are chances that a candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat and wishes to participate in the next round with the same entered options. In such cases, that candidate need to opt for choice 3.

Candidate should not pay the admission fee for the allotted seat in the first round.

Candidates opting choice 3 indicates that they are rejecting the seat allotted to them in the first round.

This choice is applicable for those candidates who are not satisfied with the seat and has got a seat elsewhere.

Candidates who opts for choice 4 indicates that they are quitting KCET counselling and seat allotment process.

These candidates will not be considered for further rounds.

Such candidates will have no claim on the allotment

Candidates are also given an option for Seat Cancellation if they do not wish to take admission .In KCET seat allotment , the candidates are required to pay the tution fee if they accept any alloted seat to them. If a candidate do not wish to get admission based on KCET score after the fee payment, then candidates can cel their seats by:

  • If the candidate wants to surrender the allotted seat in first and second round before the last date of option entry for second extended round will be refunded the fee after deduction of Rs. 5000 as a processing fee. 
  • Candidate who has been allotted seat in first or second round but has not reported to the college and cancel the seat after second extended round completion will have their entire fee will be forfeited.
  • The complete fee will be forfeited if a candidate cancel the allotted seat in the second extended round.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to cancel their seat if they do not return the original admission order, bank challan, green card and verification slip.

Question: How many rounds of KCET seat allotment  will be conducted this year?

Ans.:The authorities usually conduct two rounds of KCET seat allotment. After that, a second extended and special round of KCET   seat allotment may also be conducted. If still the seats left vacant then the authorities will conduct another round of counselling for those vacant seats. 

Question: What is the process of KCET seat allotment ?

Ans.:First of all, candidates will have to register and select their preferred choice of college and course for KCET . The allotment of seats will be done as per preference, merit list of the candidates, and availability of seats.
