KCET Exam Pattern 2023 is going to be released by Karnataka Examinations Authority on the official website- cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. As per KCET Exam Pattern, the exam will be conducted as a pen and paper-based test for a duration of 80 minutes for each paper. Each Paper- Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry will be conducted for 60 marks each. Each paper will consist of 60 Multiple Choice Questions.
KCET 2023 Syllabus is based on 1st & 2nd year PUC, recommended by the Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka. PUC in Karnataka is equivalent to Class 11th and 12th of other states. Candidates who are claiming eligibility for Government seats under Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses will be required to appear in Kannada Language Test. Candidates can appear in KCET 2023 in English or Kannada. No changes have been made to KCET Marking Scheme. Each correct answer will yield candidates 1 mark. There is no negative marking for wrong answer.
KCET 2023 will be conducted tentatively on June 2023. The exam will be conducted on two days for Biology, Mathematics and Physics, Chemistry respectively. Kannada Language Test will be conducted separately. Candidates will be given 80 minutes to solve each paper including the 10 minutes needed to fill the details in the OMR Sheet.

KCET 2023- Kannada Language Test
Candidates who will be claiming eligibility for Government seats under Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses will be required to appear in Kannada Language Test.
- Kannada Language Test will be conducted on June 18, 2023 in offline mode for a duration of 60 minutes. The Kannada Language Test will be conducted of 4th standard level.
- Kannada Language Test will be conducted at exam centers in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Bidar, Bijapura, and Mangalore Centers.
- The minimum qualifying marks for candidates appearing in Kannada Language Test is 12 marks out of a total 50 marks.
- Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates who have completed academic years from 1st to 10th standard in Kannada medium outside Karnataka state are not required to appear in Kannada Language Test.

KCET 2023 Instructions for OMR Sheet
KCET 2023 is an offline paper i.e. OMR sheets will be given to candidates to mark their answers. Candidates should keep the following points in their minds while marking their answers on the ORS Sheet.
- Candidates will be given a two-page optical response sheet (ORS) to mark their answers. The two pages of the ORS will have the same layout.
- The first page of the ORS is machine-readable. It is designed to leave impressions of the responses on the second page.
- Applicants should not separate or disturb the alignment of the two pages of the OMR Sheet under any circumstances.
- Candidates are required to mark answers to all the questions on the first page of the OMR Sheet by darkening the appropriate bubble.
- Candidates should use the BLACK BALL POINT pen for darkening the bubbles.
- Candidates need to apply adequate pressure to ensure that a proper impression is made on the second page of the ORS.
- Instructions for darkening the bubbles will be printed on the question paper and candidates must strictly follow these instructions.
- The second page of the ORS will be given to the candidates by the invigilator at the end of the examination.

Ques: What is the total marks for KCET?
Ans: Each Paper in KCET 2023- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology will be of 60 marks. Each paper will consist of 60 questions that will carry a weightage of 1 mark. There is no negative marking in KCET 2023.
Ques: What is the passing marks for KCET 2023?
Ans: The qualifying marks for KCET 2023 has not been announced yet. However candidates who will be appearing in Kannada language test will be required to score a minimum of 12 marks out of total 150 in order to qualify for the exam.
Ques 3: What are the papers that candidates have to appear for in KCET 2023?
Ans: KCET 2023 Farm Science applicants need to appear for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology papers, while aspirants of Engineering, and Technology courses, need to take the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics papers. For Pharma programs, candidates need to appear for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology papers.
Ques 4: Are NEET/NATA scores compulsory for candidates wanting to pursue Medical/Architecture programs through KEA?
Ans: Aspirants willing to pursue Medical/Dental/AYUSH programs should compulsorily have a valid NEET score (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) and for admission to Architecture programs, aspirants should mandatorily have a valid NATA score (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) or JEE Paper-2 score in order to be considered eligible for admission through KEA for Government share of seats.

Ans: For KCET 2023, candidates will be alloted 80 minutes for each paper. KCET 2023 will be conducted on June 16 and June 17 for Biology, Mathematics and Physics, Chemistry respectively. Candidates who will be appearing in Kannada Language Test will be alloted 1 hour for the exam.
Ques 6: What are Question paper versions and why are these important for KCET 2023?
Ans: Question paper on each subject of KCET 2023 will have 16 different versions and the version code will be printed in bold on the top sheet of the question paper. The version codes used in each paper will be from A - 1 to A - 4, B - 1 to B - 4, C - 1 to C - 4 and D - 1 to D - 4. Version codes are used in order to prevent usage of unfair means among examinees.
Ques 7: How exactly should the answers be marked on the OMR sheets in KCET 2023?
Ans: KCET 2023 is an offline test and examinees will be issued a 2-page OMR Sheet to mark their answers. The answers to the questions should be marked on Page 1 by darkening the appropriate circle of the corresponding question. For example, if the answer to question no 3 is option D, the examinee needs to darken the circle D against serial number 3 on the OMR sheet.
