MDes Admission 2023 is done based on an entrance exam. Candidates seeking MDes Admission must qualify for a national or university-level entrance exam such as CEED, NID, SEED, etc. MDes Admission 2023 is open in several top design colleges of India such as IICD, IITs, SID, etc.
The registration for several MDes Entrance exams such as NID DAT, CEED, and SEED is also ongoing to offer MDes Admission 2023. The IIT Bombay conducted the CEED entrance exam to offer admission to the MDes course at various IITs in India on January 22, 2023.
MDes (Master of Design) is a two-year post-graduation general course from the design stream. The eligibility criteria to apply for MDes is to have a bachelor's degree, in an undergraduate Designing Course such as BDes in any specialization with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

MDes Admission 2023: National Level Entrance Exam
As the university level exams will be conducted nationwide, it is put under the National level entrance exams section. The details regarding the same are given below.
NIFT EE 2023
- National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFT EE) is conducted once every year by the National Institute of Fashion Technology to offer MDes Admission in 16 campuses of NIFT across India.
- The exam is divided into 3 sections- Creative Ability Test, General Ability Test, and Situation Test (ST).
- The exam is conducted in both English/ Hindi and are for a total of 120 marks.

CEED 2023
- The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is conducted by the IIT Bombay once every year to offer MDes Admission in top design institutes such as IIT Bombay, IISC Bangalore, IIT Guwahati, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur and IIT Hyderabad.
- The CEED is divided into two parts and it is mandatory to qualify both papers and both the papers are of hundred marks each. The Exam is conducted in English/Hindi medium.

AIEED 2023
- Arch Academy of Design conducts the All-India Entrance Examination for Design (AIEED) to offer admission to MDes programs at the Arch Academy of Design.
- AIEED exam consists of two papers, General Ability Test and Creative Ability Test. The exam is conducted for 5 hours 30 minutes with a Personal Interaction and Portfolio Review - 30 minutes.
NID DAT 2023
- National Institute of Design conducts the NID DAT exam once every year to facilitate admission in various UG and PG programs at different NIDs.
- The NID DAT exam consists of two papers; NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT mains.
- Aspirants have to take NID DAT (Prelims) first and if they qualify the first round, they will be eligible to appear for the NID DAT (Mains).
- NID DAT prelims is a design aptitude test and the NID DAT main exam comprises of a Studio Test and Interview round.
