Maharashtra MBA Admission is conducted on the basis of an entrance exam. The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAH CET) is the annual state-level common selection test for admission to MBA programs offered by participating universities of Maharashtra. It is officially known as MAH MBA/MMS-CET. The MAH MBA CET Application Form has been released on February 23, 2023, to offer Maharashtra MBA Admissions 2023 through the MAH-CET 2023. The last date to register for the Maharashtra MBA Admission 2023 was March 11, 2023.

Maharashtra MBA Admission 2023 is conducted by The Commissionerate, Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai. The entrance test will be conducted on March 25 – 26, 2023, across 47 urban areas in the state of Maharashtra. MAH CET MBA is followed by the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) counseling in which the candidates will be allotted MBA seats in MAH CET participating colleges based on their scores.  

Candidates holding a graduation degree from a recognized college are qualified for confirmation through MAH CET. Candidates should score 45% least to take admission to the MBA course in Maharashtra. MAH-CET score is accepted by more than 300 public/private business schools in Maharashtra including KJ SIMSR Mumbai, L.N Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, etc.

Maharashtra MBA Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must have passed at least a 3-year undergraduate degree in any discipline with 50% marks from a recognized university by UGC/AIU.
  • For reserved categories and disabled people (having a place with Maharashtra State in particular), a total of 45% is required. Candidates who have a place with a reserved classification need to deliver a "Caste Validity Certificate" issued by the Scrutiny Committee of the Social Welfare Department and candidates having a place with the ST office should submit a "tribunal Validity Certificate" issued by the Scrutiny Committee of Tribal office.
  • Reserved candidates who don't have a place with SC/ST also need to possess a legitimate Non-Creamy layer certificate.
  • Final-year students are also eligible to apply.
  • The percentage of marks must be adjusted to two places after the decimal point.
Maharashtra Candidates All India Candidates
Candidates must have secured at least 30 marks in the state’s MBA entrance examination. Candidates must have appeared in any of the CAT/MAT/XAT/JMET/AIMA entrance examinations.

  • All eligible applicants have to register for the Maharashtra MBA test MAH CET through the online portal cetcell.mahacet.org till February 22, 2023. 
  • Visit the official website and get registered by filling in the required details.

Maharashtra MBA Admission 2023: Counselling Process

  • Admission to MBA will start with the counseling process after the declaration of results, the MAH CET 2023.
  • The marks scored become the basis of admission and applicants will be selected for admission to the respective management colleges based on the merit list.
  • All eligible applicants must book their seats as per their priority colleges.
  • Required documents for verification rounds must be produced during the admission process.
  • Candidates after giving a specific College will have to report to that college for further Verification Process.
  • State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra will conduct MAH CET 2023 MBA counseling in a centralized manner.
  • Applicants from outside Maharashtra must have a valid CAT / MAT / CMAT / GMAT / XAT / ATMA score to apply for admission to MAH CET MBA 2023. The process is carried out by the State Joint Entrance Test Cell.

Ques. When will the MAH CET 2023 exam be conducted?

Ans. The MAH CET 2023 exam is expected to be conducted on June 20, 2023. The exam schedule is likely to be announced in the first week of January.

Ques. How is the Merit List prepared in MHA-CET for MBA?

Ans. A candidate is given State Rank (Rank among all the Maharashtra candidates), Home University Rank (Rank among all the home university candidates) based on the score fetched in MHA-CET. For reserved category students, for example, OBC candidates, he/ she/ ze will get State OBC Rank and Home University OBC Rank apart from the above two ranks. If a candidate applies for All India level seats, he/she will get the All India Rank also. There are no reservations in All India level seats.

Ques. Which candidates are applicable for admission under the J&K quota for MBA?

Ans. Candidates eligible under this category include

  •  Children of citizens, who are displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any place in India or safer places in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Children of officers belonging to IAS, IPS, IFS, children of military and paramilitary forces transferred to Jammu and Kashmir to combat terrorist activities.
  • Children of staff and officers of the Jammu and Kashmir police departments engaged in fighting terrorism.
  • The number of seats under this quota will be as per the policy of the Government.
