What is BTech Polymer Technology all about?
B Tech Polymer Technology is a branch under B tech that is associated with the theory of chemical engineering and relates to the production and use of Polymers. It uses the principles of Plant Design, Process Design, Thermodynamics and Transport phenomena to develop new and better products. If you take this course you will be learning how a Polymer Engineer can look and lead the production process of plastics as well as other polymers.
B.Tech. (Polymer Technology) is known to be an engineering course that designs, analyses, and/or modifies polymer materials. The first-year course is common to all engineering disciplines. The second-year comprises the study of some specific subjects related to the field of polymer engineering. Third-year is focused on a more specialized study of the subject. In the fourth year, the candidate takes up project work and industrial training.

BTech Polymer Technology Admission Process?
One must follow the process given below to get admitted into a college
- Step 1: Fill the Application form
- Step 2: Give the Entrance Exams
- Step 3: Once you have cleared the Entrance Exam you will get a long list of colleges you are eligible for so select the college appropriate to your Entrance Exam score.
- Step 4: Once you have selected for the college, they will call you for the Counselling sessions.
- Step 5: Admission
There are multiple engineering entrance exams in India at national and state level. It is up to the students to choose the national or state-level engineering test depending on their requirements. Students are often confused about the terms B. E (Bachelor of Engineering) and B. Tech (Bachelor of Technology).
B. Tech Admission process for the academic session will happen in the month of March or April. Almost, all the states initiate the entrance exam process for UG B. Tech admission in March/ April. B. Tech admission process in IITs, NITs, and IIITs is different from UG engineering admission process in private engineering colleges. Similarly, the B. Tech admissions in one state vary from another.
Students having scored at least 50% in aggregate in the XII standard with science subjects and having subsequently pursued a 1-year diploma course are considered eligible for lateral entry to this course.
Some colleges like BIT (Ranchi), Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (Chennai), and Delhi Technological University make this provision.
BTech Polymer Technology Eligibility
For pursuing B.Tech course, one must pass Class 12 in Science stream. The students must have Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics as the subjects in Class 12. Students who have studied only these subjects in Class 12 are treated eligible for B.Tech admission.
In addition, students must score at least 50% of marks in Class 12 to be eligible for B.Tech admission in engineering colleges across the country. However, students belonging to reserved categories such as SC/ ST will have the relaxation of up to 5% in the minimum qualifying marks.
For some of the engineering streams like Biomedical Engineering, students must have studied Biology as one of the subjects in Class 12.
