Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC) is a private institute located in Pune. SIMC Pune MA (MC) Eligibility

The eligibility to apply for the course is different for Indian and International students. Check the eligibility beneath:

Indian Students

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% for SC/ ST candidates)
  • Final year candidates can also apply. However, their admission will be provisional and subject to their proof of Graduation with 50% marks or equivalent grade.
  • Any individual who has completed his or her Qualification from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from AIU

International Students

  • A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if he or she holds a Foreign Passport.
  • A student is eligible to apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) if he or she has a PIO card, and is a citizen of a country other than India.

SIMC Pune selects applicants for admission on the following basis:

  • Firstly, the institute consider the score in MA (MC) Online Entrance Test to shortlist candidates.
  • After shortlisting, SIMC call screened candidate for GE-PIWAT process.
  • Finally, students are selected depending upon their performance in the above process.

How to Apply for SIMC Pune MA (MC)?

Candidates who wish to apply for the MA (MC) have to follow a sequence of steps which are listed as follows:

  1. Go to the official website of SIMC.
  2. Click on the “Admission Open for MA(MC)” tab available on the home page.
  3. Now register yourself by providing necessary details.
  4. Make payment of INR 1950/- through Net banking/Credit Card/Debit Card via BillDesk Payment Gateway.
  5. Preview your registration and payment details.
  6. Upon successful registration, you will receive an email ID and password.
  7. Sign in using the above credentials.
  8. Now fill all the required details in the application form.
  9. Click on the “Submit” button when all the details are filled.

SIMC Pune MBA (CM) Eligibility

The minimum requirement to apply for MBA (CM) in SIMC Pune is mentioned below for Indian and International students:

Indian Students

  • Graduates with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% for SC/ST candidates).

  • Symbiosis Institute of Mass and Communication will shortlist candidates on the basis of their SNAP Test score.
  • The screened candidates will then have to be present for GE-PIWAT process.
  • The final selection will be based on the performance in the above process.
  • A merit list will be released by the institute which will contain the names of selected students.

NOTE - Foreign National/OCI/ PIO/NRI candidate is exempted from taking SNAP Test. However, such candidates need to apply through SCIE.

How to Apply for SIMC Pune MBA (CM)?

Applying for MBA (CM) is a two-way process as candidates have to first apply and pay for SNAP and then register for the course.

Step 1 - Apply and Pay for SNAP

Students have to follow some simple steps which are listed below:

  1. Go to the snaptest.org website.
  2. Click on the “Apply Now” tab.
  3. Now register yourself by clicking on the “Register” tab.
  4. Read all the instructions carefully and then click on the 'I Agree' button to accept the Terms and Conditions.
  5. Fill in all the details correctly.
  6. After details are filled, click on ‘Save & Continue” tab. 
  7. An OTP will be sent on your email id and phone number.
  8. Enter the 'OTP' and submit it.
  9. After successful registration, you receive an email and SMS containing your SNAP ID and password.
  10. Lastly, pay the application fees of INR 1,950/- for SNAP Test.

Mode of Payment - Applicants can pay the fees through Billdesk Payment Gateway/Easebuzz Payment Gateway/Indian Bank Gateway/Demand Draft.

Step 2 - Register for MBA (CM)

Only those applicants who have applied for SNAP Test can register for the SIMC Pune in the same application form for MBA (CM) course by paying an application fee of INR 1000/-.

A list of documents need to be submitted along with an application form:

  • Marksheet and Certificate of Bachelor’s Degree.
  • SC/ST Certificate (If applicable)
  • Demand Draft

SIMC Pune Scholarships

The deserving students of the institute are offered various Scholarships by the Symbiosis Society Foundation which consists of:

  • Postgraduate Merit Scholarship: SCIM Pune offers a yearly scholarship to the toppers of the semester who have scored a GPA of 7.50 in MBA as well as in MA. 
  • Jayatee Deshmukh Award: This scholarship is awarded to a Girl student admitted in the institute. If she has the highest marks in SNAP test then the institute will award a scholarship amount of INR 75,000/-
  • International Scholarship: Symbiosis University and Indian Council for Cultural Relations has developed a joint scholarship program to offer an opportunity for foreign students to pursue higher studies. This will be awarded to only 1 student for a full-time program and will cover full tuition/ academic fee, accommodation and food stipend as per the norms.

Ques. What is the difference between Journalism and Audio Visual under MA at SIMC Pune?

Ans. The difference between the two is as follows:
  • Journalism basically trains students who want to enter news organizations like print, broadcast and online.
  • Audio Visual Production is for students who wish to enter the domain of AV production, direction, writing, camera, editing and other related roles in the television and film sectors.

Ques. Does SIMC Pune provide Hostel facility?

Ans. Yes, there is a hostel facility among the rolling hills with a view of the entire countryside. There are two and three-seater rooms which are fully- furnished with attached bathrooms.
