Agricultural College and Research Institute is situated in Killikulam, Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu state of India. It was established in 1984 as the third constituent agricultural college of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. (TNAU).
The institute offers UG and PG courses under seven departments- Agronomy, Plant breeding and Genetics, Soil science and Agricultural Chemistry, Horticulture, Agriculture Entomology, Social Sciences, Plant Pathology, and Farm Management.
ACRI offers an undergraduate program in B.Sc. Agriculture and an M.Sc. as a PG program for a duration of three years and two years respectively.
Admission in ACRI is only through online application with the basic eligibility criteria and selection based on merit in class 12 for B.Sc and marks scored in the university conducted test for M.Sc. followed by the counseling.

Under the Department of Social Sciences, the institute provides Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Rural Management, Agricultural Statistics, Mathematics and Languages (both English and Tamil).
Candidates should have passed all the subjects in an academic stream of the qualifying examination with 10+2 years of schooling under Board of Higher Secondary Education of Government of Tamil Nadu / Central Board of Secondary Education / Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations / other State Government Boards / other International Boards that are recognized.

Admission for B.Sc Agriculture is given the basis of ranking procedure on aggregate marks. Aggregate Mark is calculated as follows:
Aggregate Mark = Sum of ((marks obtained in each subject /maximum mark for that subject) X 50) all the four subjects considered.
In cases where more than one student has got the same aggregate marks in the common merit list, the inter se merit among such students shall be determined in the order of priority as specified below:
