Under the Department of Social Sciences, the institute provides Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Rural Management, Agricultural Statistics, Mathematics and Languages (both English and Tamil).
Candidates should have passed all the subjects in an academic stream of the qualifying examination with 10+2 years of schooling under Board of Higher Secondary Education of Government of Tamil Nadu / Central Board of Secondary Education / Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations / other State Government Boards / other International Boards that are recognized.

Admission for B.Sc Agriculture is given the basis of ranking procedure on aggregate marks. Aggregate Mark is calculated as follows:
Aggregate Mark = Sum of ((marks obtained in each subject /maximum mark for that subject) X 50) all the four subjects considered.
In cases where more than one student has got the same aggregate marks in the common merit list, the inter se merit among such students shall be determined in the order of priority as specified below:
