Panjab University is a university established in the year 1882 under the ‘University of Punjab’. However, the university was split into two parts after the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947, one for Indian Punjab and the other part for Pakistani Punjab. Hence, the name of the university was changed from ‘Punjab’ to ‘Punjab’. USOL PU is also ranked first amongst the Universities of India by Times Higher Education Asian University rankings 2015.
USOL Panjab University offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in Open School Learning program. Under UG program, BA, B.Com, B.Ed and B. Library sciences are offered. Under PG program, MA, M.Com, MBA and Postgraduate Diploma in various specialized disciplines are offered. Various certificate programs of one year program are also offered at USOL Panjab University.

- Candidate with B.Voc (Banking Insurance & Retailing) and BVoc (Retail Management) be given admission for M.Com Course
- Re-appear Candidates who have two reappears during B.Com course in 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th semester can also take admission in the M.Com program. In such case, candidate must have 50% marks in aggregate considering the remaining passing papers
- 5% relaxation will be done for the candidates who have completed their Bachelor’s from Panjab University, during admissions for post-graduation courses
Panjab University USOL Admission Test
- The university conducts a PU USOL examination, on the basis of which admissions are granted to students.
- The examination consists of four sections namely Data Interpreting, General English, Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability.
- It is a 2 hour examination and has no negative marking.
- The results will be declared online at results.puchd.ac.in.
- After the results are declared, the candidate has to fill in the examination form on the official website.
- Then a merit list shall be released. Those candidates who qualify for admission,will have to appear for the counselling at one of the reporting centers of the university.
- The counselling is chargeable and the candidates have to get all their documents verified at the reporting center.
