The City College in Kolkata, West Bengal was first started as a High School (City School) in 1879. Established by Sadharan Brahmo Samaj, the college was elevated to a college in 1881. It is affiliated with Calcutta University. City College is a NAAC accredited institute. The college offers BA, B.SC and B.Com courses in several disciplines. The courses at undergraduate level are offered in both Honors and General mode.

- A candidate may apply for more than one subject with separate application form and application fee for each course.
- For admissions to BA, B.Com, and B.Sc courses, candidates should have passed HSC with the concerned subject from any of WBCHSE/ ISC/ CBSE/ NIOS/ WBCROS Boards only.
- Selection to the courses is strictly on the basis of merit in the qualifying exam.

City College B.Sc., B.Com, BA Admission 2023
City College offers three-year BA, B.Sc, and B.Com course in various disciplines. The undergraduate courses are offered as both Honors and General courses. Applicants should have passed 10+2 along with the concerned subject of admission. Selection to each UG course is on the basis of merit list.
Merit list is drawn considering candidate’s marks in top four subjects in the qualifying exam i.e. HSC plus marks in the subject of specialization. Students will have to choose, two Elective subjects from those groups only which are mentioned under subject combination in the table.

Key Points:
- Only students who have passed HSC from WBCHSE/ ISC/ CBSE/ NIOS/ WBCROS are eligible to apply.
- Candidates should have passed English as a subject in 10+2.
- Only those who have passed HSC in 2020 and 2021 are eligible for admission.
- Relaxation of 10% marks in Compulsory subjects and 5% marks in the related subjects in the eligibility criteria for SC/ ST category candidates.
- SC/ ST applicants from other states will be considered as General candidates.
City College, Kolkata Application Process 2023
The application process for the undergraduate courses offered by the institute is online. Candidates seeking admission need to follow following steps to apply online.
- Visit the official website of City College, Kolkata.
- Fill the application form correctly.
- If a candidate wants to apply for more than one subject, separate application forms are needed to be filled.
- Make payment of INR 200 (bank charges extra) through online payment services or at any branch of SBI.
- Candidates need not send a print out of the application form to the college.
- Candidates who find a place in the merit list need to appear for counseling to confirm the admission.
- Documents to be produced at the counseling:
- Print out of Application Form with photographs and signatures.
- Proof of payment of Admission Fees.
- Passing certificate of HSC and SSC.
- Mark sheets of Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent Examinations.
- Caste Certificate (if applicable).
City College, Kolkata Reservation
Reservation criteria will be followed according to the existing norm of the government.
- Benefits of the reservation will only be given to candidates belonging to the state of West Bengal.
- Those belonging to reserved categories should possess a valid certificate in support of their claim.
- OBC candidates should possess certificate mentioning their category A/B.
