Candidates who have completed their 10 + 2 studies from a recognized board of education and have secured 60% aggregate marks or more (40% for SC / ST) are eligible to apply for admission into the B.A. and B.Sc. courses. Seats will be allotted based on merit list drawn up based on academic performance in 10 + 2 studies.

Barasat Government College M.A. and M.Sc. Admissions 2023

Barasat Government College offers the Master of Arts (M.A.) course under one specialization, which is Bengali and the Master of Science (M.Sc.) course under 3 different specializations which are – Botany, Physics and Zoology.

Candidates who have are Holders of a Bachelor’s degree from a related field of study are eligible to apply for the respective M.A. and M.Sc. courses. Seats will be allotted based on academic merit from Bachelor’s degree and/or 10 + 2 studies and based on candidates’ performance in written test which will be conducted by the college.

  • For M.Sc. in Botany and Zoology, candidates securing better marks in Chemistry General at undergraduate level will be given preference.

Application Process

       1. UG Courses :

  • Mode of application is online.
  • Online application form will be available at bgc.org.in during the application period.
  • Register as a new candidate and fill out and submit the application form.
  • One application form can include more than one choice of course.
  • For application to first two choices of subjects the charge will be INR 50 and for application to each additional choice of subjects INR 10 will be charged. A candidate may apply for any number of courses for which he / she is eligible for as per the eligibility criteria.
  • Application fee is to be paid online using credit card / debit card / net banking.
  • Candidates are required to have the following documents during the verification process –
  • A copy of printed online Admission form + payment receipt
  • 10 + 2 Mark sheet (original) + one photo copy
  • 10 (Secondary) admit card (Original) / Birth Certificate + One photo copy
  • SC / ST / OBC / PH certificates (issued by proper authority) in original (if mentioned at the time of registration) + photo copy
  • Two stamped size recent colour photographs.
  1.  PG Courses :
  • Mode of application is online.
  • Application forms will be made available at – bgc.org.in during the application period.
  • Filled out applications need to be submitted online and candidates are also required to take a print out of the filled out form for future reference.
  • Application fee is INR 450 for both M.A. and M.Sc. applicants.
  • Application fee can be paid online.
  • List of required documents will be intimated later to the applicants.
