Sourashtra College Madurai Admission 2024: Application process, Reservation

Sourashrtra College, Madurai offers BA degree in English, B.Sc. Degree in 10 specializations, B.Com degree in 3 specializations and BBA degree at the undergraduate level. Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with minimum 35% marks to become eligible.

For B.Sc. program, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and/or Biology as subjects in Class XII.

Candidates must have passed with minimum 35% marks in aggregate.

For B.Sc. degree courses, candidates must have passed the subject he/she is applying for. Selection is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination and personal interview.

The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in one language subject, best marks in other three subjects. Candidates who clear the cut-off score set by the college will be called for the admission process.

• The cut off percentage of marks for admission at the entry level varies from community to community, course to course.
• The applicants’ marks and other data given in the application are fed into the computer and the merit list is prepared for each course on the basis of OC/BC/OBC/SC/ST/MBC/Minority/Physically Challenged/Ex-servicemen etc.

Sourashrtra College, Madurai offers MA degree in English, M.Sc. Degree in 8 specializations, M.Com degree in 2 specializations, MCA, and MBA degree courses at the undergraduate level.

Candidates must have graduation/bachelor’s degree obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 50% or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India to be eligible to apply.

For M.Sc. and MCA program, candidates must have Bachelor’s degree in B.Sc. and BCA respectively. For M.Sc. degree, candidates must have passed the subject he/she is applying for a B.Sc. level. Selection for MCA will also be done on the basis of TANCET Scores. Whereas, for MBA, selection is done on the basis of TANCET/ MAT examination.

For other PG courses, admission in done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.

• Relaxation of 10% will be given for the minority candidates in the qualifying examination.
• In the case of both MBA and MCA, 30% of the seats are filled in through the counselling of TANCET and 70% of the seats are filled in by the Management.

Sourashrtra College, Madurai, Pune offers Master of Philosophy degree in Commerce and Doctorate of Philosophy in Commerce.

Candidates must have Post graduation degree with a minimum aggregate of 70% or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India to be eligible to apply for this degree programs.

 For M.Phil. Candidates must have Master’s degree in English and for the Ph.D. degree, candidates must have Master’s degree in Commerce.

Selection is done on the basis of the personal interview conducted by the Madurai Kamaraj University.
