Sir Jamshedji Jeejeebhoy School of Art, commonly called as Sir JJ School of Art is the oldest art college in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Founded in March 1857, the institute is affiliated to University of Mumbai.
Sir JJ School of Art offers Bachelor of Fine Arts course in undergraduate level, Master of Fine Arts course in postgraduate level and a number of Diploma and Hobby courses in various streams. UG and PG courses are pursued on a full-time basis while some of the Diploma courses can be pursued on a part-time basis.

Bachelor of Fine Arts course is offered in various streams namely, Painting, Sculpture, Metal work, Ceramics, Textile Design and Interior Decoration. BFA is a four year, full-time course. The students have to clear the exam MH-AAC-CET to be able to secure a seat for BFA course.
The basic eligibility to apply for undergraduate courses is higher secondary pass (10+2) from a recognized board or university. Students with Arts background have an added advantage, however, science and commerce students are also welcome.

Those who wish to get admission in Master of Arts course in this institute must have cleared BFA from any recognized university of India. Generally, MFA is done in the same subject as BFA.
The institute offers MFA in 9 streams, namely- Painting in Portrait, Painting in Creative Painting, Sculpture, Painting in Graphic (Printmaking), Painting in Mural, Interior Decoration, Textile Design, Metalwork and Ceramic. For this PG course, no specific entrance test is needed. The duration of MFA course is two years.

Candidates seeking admission to BFA, MFA, Diploma and Hobby courses must have applied for concerned entrance exams. The institute follows the below steps for admission for BFA courses:
Merit based scholarships and freeships are awarded to talented students. Scholarships are awarded to 6% students and freeships to 10% of students in each class.
The rate of scholarship is INR 25 per month for first year BFA students and INR 35 for all other classes. INR 75 is awarded as stipend for Diploma in Arts Education Class students.
