Government College of Engineering, a constituent college of Anna University, is one of the premier institutions in Tamil Nadu quenching the intellectual thirst of the ever learning, electric youth of our country. In its 32 years existence, it has left no stones unturned for producing not just unassailable engineers but techopreneurs endowed with exceptional quality of acuity, attitude and ardor. The college spreads over an area of 54 acres, possesses excellent infrastructure and well trained faculty to make the students dynamic. The institute offering more than what it promises, It should not be amusing to find our students academically acclimated, professionally promising and invariably innovative because of its vast experienced faculty members.
Facilities at the campus :
Library
The Library has about 10350 titles and 36335 volumes. Additions are made every year . Further the library subscribes to 47 Indian magazines and journals including 6 foreign journals.
Computer and Internet
Internet facilities with a bandwidth of 100Mbps are provided for all Departments for the benefit of the of students. Hostels are provided with Wi-Fi for internet connection which will further improve their knowledge in studies.
Conference Hall
Conference hall is the place where all the meetings, conferences, are conducted. In some cases it may also acts as our interview hall. This room is provided with excellent facilities like projectors, air coolers etc.
Banking
The college has 24 hour ATM facility. A branch of Canara Bank is also functioning inside the campus.
Conveyance
The college bus is available for use by students and staff at prescribed rates. The bus is also used by students for their visits to industries in and around Tirunelveli.
Hostel Facilities
The college has 6 hostels namely Kaveri, Porunai, Vaigai, Manimutharu for men and Amaravathi and Bhavani for women , providing accommodation to over 700 boys and 300 girls. The Hostel has an excellent water facilities, uninterrupted power supply, dividing system for Mess, Television with Big TV, Reading Hall , Newspapers, Wi-Fi etc.

The college has got uninterrupted power supply. The power supply is maintained by an inbuilt power house.
Clubs at the campus :
National Service Scheme (NSS)
NSS was set off with an aim of crafting the prominence of group activities among the students' commune. Blood donation camps, first aid awareness program, guest lecture on health, cleanliness are conducted periodically. Every year NSS camp is organized by our college in some rural areas for creating awareness among people
Rotaract Club Chapter
The college has an active rotaract club which was inaugurated by its parent club, the Rotaray club of Tinnevely on 9th September 2008. Since its inception, the club is actively organizing several awareness programmes, Blood donation camps, etc. This club also involved in our college placement training programmes. It is conducting several mock interviews with the help of parent club for the betterment of the college students. It hoists the event “GO GREEN” every year to make the college a plastic free zone.
Yoga Club
The yoga club was started in the year 2008. Its main motto is to guide the students to endure their mental stress and to bring out their inherent talents. The club orchestrates courses related to asana and personality development programmes.
Red Ribbon Club
The club was inaugurated over a few years back. Its intention is to inculcate the social welfare thoughts in the students and to provide service to the society without any prejudice. It periodically conducts blood donation camps and AIDS awareness programmes for the college students and also creates awareness on fire safety precaution measures among the college students.
