VIT Pune offers a four-year B.Tech program in eight specializations. Admissions to the program are done through JEE Main or MHT CET entrance test followed by state-level counseling. The institute has a total intake of 160 students for its B.Tech program.

The institute also accepts B.Tech lateral entry (direct admission to B.Tech 2nd year).

VIT Pune B.Tech Eligibility Criteria 

• 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognized board of education.
• A valid JEE Main or MHT CET score.
• For B.Tech lateral entry, Candidates must hold a three-year diploma.

VIT Pune B.Tech Selection Criteria

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their scores in JEE Mains or MHT CET. shortlisted candidates will then be offered admission through the state-level counseling process.

VIT Pune B.Tech Application Process

In order to take admission, candidates need to apply for JEE Main 2023 for which application process is as follows:

• Visit the official website of JEE- Main
• Register for the online application form
• Make a note of the system-generated application number
• Create a password
• Log in again and fill out the form
• Upload scanned images of photographs and signature
• A fee of 650 INR (325 INR for reserved categories) will be charged/ It is to be paid through a Debit card, Credit card, Net banking, UPI, or Paytm.
• Keep a printout of the application form for future use.

VIT Pune offers a two-year M.Tech program in six specializations, namely, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Science, E & TC Engineering, Instrumentation 

& Control Engg, Heat Power Engineering, and Design Engineering. 

Candidates seeking admission to the program are required to appear for the GATE entrance examination.

VIT Pune M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor Degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology from All India Council for Technical Education/ Central/ State Government approved institutions/ equivalent, with at least 50% marks (At least 45% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only)
• Obtained Non-Zero Positive Score in GATE
• For sponsored candidates, a minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience in a registered firm/ company/ industry/ educational/ research institute/ any Government Department/ Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being sought.

VIT Pune M.Tech Selection Criteria

Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of their GATE scores. Shortlisted candidates will then be offered admission through state-level counseling. The institute will be conducting a written test or interview for Non-GATE qualified or sponsored candidates.

VIT Pune M.Tech Application Process

Those who are eligible for admission have to take the GATE. The registration process for it is given below:

• Visit the official website
• Register through the link by entering the candidate’s name, email ID, and mobile number.
• After the form is submitted, an enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number.
• Fill out the application form.
• A fee of 1,500 INR (750 INR for women and reserved categories) will be charged. It is to be paid online.
• Download the form and keep a printout for future reference.

VIT Pune offers a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree program at the postgraduate level for a duration of three years. Admissions to the program are done through Maharashtra MCA Common Entrance Test (MAH-MCA-CET) conducted by DTE, Maharashtra.

VIT Pune MCA Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must hold a BCA or relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with Mathematics.
• A valid score in MAH-MCA-CET.

Note: Relaxation of 5% marks in the eligibility criteria will be given to backward class categories and persons with disabilities belonging to Maharashtra State only.

VIT Pune MCA Selection Criteria 

Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of scores obtained in the Maharashtra MCA Common Entrance Test (MAH-MCA-CET). Admissions are offered through a state-level counseling process. 

VIT Pune MCA Application Process 

• Visit the official portal of MAH-MCA-CET (mahact.org).
• Log in with your email id and create a password.
• Enter your personal and academic details.
• Select exam center preferences.
• Upload the necessary documents.
• Submit the form
• Pay the application fee of INR 1000 (for General/OBC) and INR 800 (for SC/ST candidates).
• Take a printout of the application form for future reference.

VIT Pune MCA Cutoff 2020/2019/2018

VIT Pune MCA Cutoff is the minimum marks in the MAH MCA CET required for admission. The institute accepts these exam scores for final selections. The cutoff marks are different for students belonging to home state (H) and other state (O). Table below represents trend of ranks and marks in the MAH MCA CET exam for VIT Pune MCA admissions. VIT Pune offers a research-based program after which scholars are awarded a degree in Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). The program is being offered in six disciplines, namely, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Industrial & Production Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Admissions to the program are done Ph.D. entrance test (PET) conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University. 

VIT Pune Ph.D Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidates must hold a master’s degree with at least 55% marks from a recognized university or institute.
• Relaxation of 5% marks in the eligibility criteria will be given to SC/ST categories students belonging to Maharashtra State only.
• Candidates with exceptional abilities having bachelor’s degrees in B.E/B.Tech with at least 55% marks and 15 years of work experience after graduation in the related field.

VIT Pune Ph.D. Selection Criteria

• Admission is offered on the basis of performance in Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) and a personal interview conducted by the institute.
• Candidates with a valid score GATE/GPAT/SET/NET/JRF/SRF examination are exempted from the entrance test.

VIT Pune Ph.D. Application Process

• Candidates need to fill-up the form online through the official website of DTE, Maharashtra.
• The application form must be paid online through Internet Payment, Credit Card/ Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets
• Application fees for Open Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J & K Migrant candidates, and NRI/Foreign Nationals / PIO/Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries Candidates is INR 1000.
• Application fees for candidates of Backward Class Categories [SC, ST, VJ/DT- NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC] and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only are INR 800.

VIT Pune also offers a PG Diploma in Piping Engineering for a duration of four to eight months. The course has a total intake of 40 students for its regular and weekend batch. The institute charges a total fee of INR 80,000 for the course.
