Each course includes 4 to 5 examinations, with the best quiz scores, mid-semester, and in-semester exams contributing to the final grades, assessed through a letter grade and CGPA system. Nevertheless, around 5% of students in each batch fail a course annually. During the summer, students participate in research internships, often with physics professors at NISER or labs nationwide, gaining valuable exposure to real-world research. Financially, every student at NISER Bhubaneswar benefits from a scholarship of 5,000 INR per month from the Department of Atomic Energy, plus an annual research grant of 20,000 INR.
