Walchand College of Engineering Ph.D Admissions 2023
Walchand is a recognized Research Center of SUK and offers Ph.D program in all the disciplines of Engineering.[7] Currently 69 Ph.D students are enrolled with the institute.
Ph.D Selection Procedure
- Ph.D. applicants are required to appear for an Entrance Test and Interview Process conducted by SUK.
- The entrance test bears 70% weightage and interview performance is given 30% weightage for admission consideration.
- Ph.D selection procedure is overseen by the Department Research Committee/ Central Research Committee (DRC/ CRC). Candidates qualifying the entrance test proceeds to interview round.
- The general merit list for the program is prepared by the DRC/CRC, on the basis of the combined performance of the candidate in the entrance test and the interview.
- Please note that a few students are enrolled through AICTE’s QIP Research Centre and are not required to appear for the university selection process.

Diploma/ B. Tech/ M. Tech Application and Admission Process
- The application process for Diploma and B. Tech is online, through the DTE website. M. Tech aspirants too, are required to apply to DTE to appear for CAP.
- Upload specified documents, pay requisite application fee, submit the filled-in form and obtain a printout of the confirmation page.
- Once the undergraduate applicants qualify MHT CET, they have to appear for CAP for shortlisting and seat allocation on the basis of entrance score and course/ college preferences. GATE qualified candidates are also allocated seats through the CAP.
- Shortlisted candidates then report to Application Form Receipt Centre (ARC) as per different CAP Rounds.
- Finally, they report at the allotted institution for admission with required documents and fees within specified deadlines.
Note:
- Domiciles of Maharashtra have to appear for MHT CET to qualify for B. Tech. However, candidates that appear for JEE Main are also eligible to appear for the CAP.
- Candidates of Maharashtra origin as well as Other than Maharashtra State (OMS) and interested to pursue M. Tech at Walchand have to appear for GATE.
