Thangal Kunju Musaliar College of Engineering (TKMCE) Admissions 2024: Courses, Eligibility, Selection Criteria

At the UG level, the institute offers a B.Tech. in seven specializations. The specializations along with seats are given below:

The duration for the B.Tech program is 4 years.

Eligibility Criteria

• For admission to B.Tech. course, Applicants must pass 10+2 standard or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics with minimum 50% marks.

Selection Criteria

• Admissions will be based on marks in 10+2 Examination and scores in KEAM for B.Tech. course.
• A merit list will be prepared based on marks and scores. Qualifying students will have to appear for the counselling.

How to Apply for B.Tech. courses?

• The candidates can apply online for the courses through the official website of Commissioner of Entrance Examination, Kerala.
• The candidates need to register before they can fill the details.
• The application fees can be submitted online through Debit/ Credit cards or Net Banking.
• The fees can be submitted through Demand Draft also issued in favour of Commissioner of Entrance Exam payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
• The application fee for KEAM for general candidates is Rs. 1000 and for SC/ ST is Rs. 500.
• The duly filled application form has to be sent to DTE, Thiruvananthapuram.

At the UG level, the institute also offers a B.Arch. program which is of five years duration.

Eligibility Criteria

• Valid score/rank in NATA of the current year is accepted for admission to B.Arch. course.

• For B.Arch. program, institute accepts 10+2 with at least 50% marks plus valid NATA score.

• Admissions will be based on marks in 10+2 examination and scores in NATA entrance exam.
• A merit list will be prepared based on marks and scores. Qualifying students will have to appear for the counselling.

How to Apply for B.Arch. courses?

• Candidates will have to apply online on the official website of TKM College of Engineering and submit the application form along with the requisite documents.
• Candidates must have appeared in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the competent authority and approved by the Council of Architecture (COA).
• The admission of the candidates will be based on the sanctioned intake by the Council of Architecture, the All India Council for Technical Education and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and the availability of the seats at TKM College of Engineering.
• Application fee for NATA is increased from INR 1800 to INR 2000 for General Candidates and INR 1500 to INR 1700 for SC/ST Candidates.
• Unlike JEE Main B.Arch admission process, there is no centralized counselling for NATA Aspirants. Qualified candidates have to directly report to the college/institute of their choice for admission process.

At postgraduate level, the institute offers a full time M.Tech program for two years. The program is offered in the following specializations:

• Computer Science & Engineering
• Structural Engineering & Construction Management
• Industrial Refrigeration & Cryogenics

Eligibility Criteria

• For admission to M.Tech. courses, candidates need to pass a bachelor's degree with at least 60% marks.
• Admission to the M.Tech course is entirely based on the score of GATE.

Selection Criteria

• The candidates are admitted to M.Tech programs through the valid GATE score with minimum 3 years of experience.
• The members of Associate Members of Institute of Engineers (AIME) are admitted directly on merit basis with minimum 55% marks in qualifying examination.

How to apply for M.Tech program?

• For the M.Tech courses, the candidates need to apply through the official website of DTE, Kerala.
• For GATE registration, candidates need to fill up the form online at the official website.
• The application fee (Rs. 500 for unreserved category and Rs. 100 for SC/ ST) has to be submitted to any the bank branches mentioned in the prospectus.
• The duly filled application form has to be sent to DTE, Thiruvananthapuram.

At postgraduate level, the institute also offers M.Arch. course of the 5 years of duration.

Eligibility Criteria

• Admission to M.Arch course is based on marks obtained in bachelors exam.

Selection Criteria

• A merit list of the candidates is prepared based on marks in the qualifying exam.
• Selected candidates will have to appear for counselling on the allotted dates along with original documents for scrutiny.

How to apply for M.Arch. program?

• Get the application form and submit the duly filled one to the institute.
• Affix relevant documents along with form.

MCA program is offered to the students which is of the duration of three years.

Eligibility Criteria

• Admission to the MCA program is done through the Kerala CEE entrance exam.
• Candidates will have to secure at least 50% marks during graduation along with Mathematics as one subject for being eligible for the course.

Selection Criteria

• For the admission to MCA course, the college admits students through the entrance exam conducted by the University of Kerala.
• The list of the selected candidates will be uploaded on the official website of the college.

How to apply for an MCA program?

• Visit the official website of the Kerala CEE entrance examination and register to appear in the exam.
• Upload the relevant documents and fill up the necessary details.
• The application fee for the MCA entrance exam is Rs. 800 for the unreserved category applicants and Rs. 400 for the reserved category students.
• After successfully filling out the form, download the copy of the application form for future reference.
• Appear in the exam and wait for the result.
