Kerala University B.Sc. Admissions

Kerala University offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses under its 41 departments. Among all UG courses Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) is one of the most sought after courses in the state. Kerala University follows Choice Based Credit and Semester System (CBSS) in all first degree programs since 2010 onwards. Kerala University invites online application for admissions in B.Sc. courses, which are offered in 19 different subjects. Admissions in B.Sc. courses in Kerala University and in all affiliated colleges of the university are done on the basis of entrance exam and marks obtained by candidate in qualifying exam.

Kerala University B.Sc. Application Process

Following is the application process for admissions into B.Sc. courses-

• Candidates willing to get admission into B.Sc. courses in Kerala University or in any college affiliated to the university have to register online before closing of registration
• Candidates have to visit online admission portal of the University for the Registration. Here is the link for the same http://admissions.keralauniversity.ac.in
• After filling the online application students have to pay registration fee through downloaded chalan in any branch of State Bank of Travancore. Application fee for General category is 250 Rs. and for SC/ST candidates its 100 Rs. The original pay slip from the bank should be kept safely as it is needed at the time of admission
• The hard copy (print out) of the application form should also be kept safely as it is submitted at the time of admission along with supporting documents. Students should also keep safe the application number and password generated by registration as it will be needed for any further admission related activity.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates have to meet the eligibility criterion for taking admission in the B.Sc. courses. Candidates who have passed in Higher Secondary Examination of the state board or an examination accepted by the university as equivalent thereto with Mathematics / Physics / Chemistry / Biology as one of the subjects under science group are eligible for admission in B.Sc. from Kerala University.

Admission Procedure

Admission procedure consists of allotment of programs and colleges, based on the options filled by the candidate and rank of the candidate in entrance exam.

• First university conducts trial allotment which only gives a rough idea of allotment and not ensures the candidate a seat in any program of any college
• After the trial allotment, the first allotment list is published on the website of university. First allotment list consists of college and program allotted personal details and fee to be remitted.
• Candidates have to download the allotment memo which has to be produced before the principal at the time of admission.

Reservation

There is mandatory reservation in all govt. affiliated college for SC/ST and Socially & Educationally Backward Classes. Nearly 5 % seats are reserved for candidates from Jammu & Kashmir, Union Territory of Lakshadweep, and Kashmiri Migrants, inmates of Govt. Children Homes, Tamil Linguistic Minority and wards of Armed Force Personnel. 3% of the total seats will be set apart exclusively for Physically Handicapped candidates in Government Colleges. At least one seat shall be reserved for Sports candidates in each subject for the First Degree Program.
