SMIT Scholarship

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) East Sikkim provides various scholarship on the basis of the following criteria:

Institute Merit cum Means Scholarship

30% concession on course fee for B.Tech candidates having average Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) percentage 90 and above.
20% concession on course fee for B.Tech candidates having average Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) percentage 85 and 90.
10% concession on course fee for B.Tech candidates having average Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) percentage 80 and 85.
20% concession on Course fee for B Tech candidates of Nepal and Bhutan and Bangladesh (SAARC Countries excluding India).
10% concession on course fee to immediate siblings of SMIT students for taking admission in the B.Tech course.
Institute Mean Scholarship**
75% concession in tuition fee is given to students sponsored by the Government of Sikkim.
Special Scholarship upto 40% for Economically Weaker section
M.Tech: 50% scholarship in course fee for the Top 2 meritorious (GATE Score/Entrance Test conducted by the Institute) students.
B.Tech Lateral entry: The Scholarship scheme is as follows:

Note(s):

Candidates can avail only one type of scholarship.
Scholarship Schemes are applicable for the entire duration of their study, subject to fulfilment of criteria of CGPA ≥ 6.5 with no backlog and no disciplinary case.
**The scholarship will also be applicable to the economically weak students based upon the income of the guardian/ parent subject to recommendation by the institutional scholarship committee on case to case basis along with verification of requisite documents.

The fee structure is Good with 316000/yr for B.Tech CSE and similar in other courses. Students can avail of Merit-based Scholarships accordingly to their 12th PCM percentage. For >=90% it's 30% of total fees and similar to it 20% waiver for >= 85 and 10% to >=80. The 10% scholarship is for immediate students whose siblings are studying at SMIT.
