Sarabhai Institute of Science & Technology (SIST), Thiruvananthapuram was started in 2004 by Space Engineers Welfare Society (SEWELS). It is a self – financed institute which aims to impart high quality technical education. Researches:
- Security System using IP camera – It is a fully automated security system using a standard, commercially available IP Camera with two endpoints; transmission over the network using TCP/IP Protocol and the camera. It is a feasible & functional surveillance product at a competitive cost for checking security issues
- Tele Cure – It aims to develop a system called ‘Tele medicine’ which will be helpful for providing medical facility even in remote areas through digital resources
- Automatic Room Control with Intelligent Fan – It is an intelligent device for minimizing the loss of electricity in the households. It senses the absence of occupants in a room and automatically shuts off the power to a particular appliance, e.g. tube light, fan. It turns on the appliance again when someone enters the room
- Study of Effects of Mobile Radiation – It is a research topic for PhD faculties to find out and minimize the health hazards that are caused by radiations from cell phones in our daily life
