Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College was founded in 2000 and is situated in Durgapur, West Bengal. The College is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam University of Technology, Kolkata and is approved by AICTE and NBA.
The college offers UG and PG programs in the field of Engineering, Computer Application, and Management. UG courses include B.Tech in seven streams, BCA, and BBA (Regular and Hospital Management) while four specializations of M.Tech, MCA, and MBA are offered as PG courses by the Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College.

- Applicants who hold BE/ B.Tech or MSc Degree in relevant specialization are considered eligible for the M.Tech program.
- Selection of candidate for M.Tech is done through MAKAUT-PGCET or GATE merit and admission is given through counselling process.
- For MBA and MBA course candidates with Graduation Degree in any discipline are eligible for admission.
- Admission to MCA program is given based on candidate’s score in WB-JECA whereas for MBA admission candidates are shortlisted as per their score obtained in JEMAT or MAT.

Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College B.Tech, BBA, and BCA Admission 2023
UG courses offered by the College include B.Tech with 7 specializations, BCA and BBA. The two branches of B.Tech course viz. Information Technology and Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering have the intake of 60 seats while the other specializations have 120 seats. Similarly, BBA and BCA have total 120 seats, whereas BBA Hospital Management has the intake of 60 students.
Applicants who have passed 10+2/ HSC or its equivalent qualifying examination conducted by any recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects are eligible to get admission in B.Tech program. For admission to BBA and BCA, applicants must have passed 10+2 in general or vocational stream with English as a compulsory language.
Selection of the students for admission to BBA and BCA program is done on the basis of their merit in the qualifying examination and the shortlisted candidates are called to attend the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. Admission to B.Tech course is given based on candidate’s merit in WBJEE or JEE Main.

Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College MBA, MCA, M.Tech Admission 2023
Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College offers M.Tech, MCA and MBA program. M.Tech has 4 specializations with 18 seats in each and MCA and MBA have 60 seats in each. Applicants who have completed BE/ B.Tech in relevant discipline are considered eligible for M.Tech admission, while for MCA minimum eligibility criteria is Bachelor’s Degree with not less than 50% marks with Mathematics in 10+2/ HSC. Students who hold Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any relevant discipline are eligible for MBA admission.
Admission to M.Tech course is given based on candidate’s GATE score or merit of MAKAUT-PGCET. Selection of candidates for MCA program is done based on their marks obtained in JECA conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, whereas for MBA program applicants with valid MAT or JEMAT score are called for GD and PI round conducted by the college and those who qualify these are admitted to the course.

Key Points for Admission:
- MAKAUT conducts Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) for M.Tech and M.Pharm courses. Applicants with and without valid GATE score have to appear in MAKAUT-PGCET.
- JEMAT (Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test) is a state level test conducted by MAKAUT, West Bengal.
- WB-JECA is a Joint Entrance Examination for MCA program conducted at the state level and is a computer-based examination.
