National Institute of Occupational Health (NIOH) is a premier institute, under the aegis of the ICMR under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
NIOH offers three months full time Post Graduate Certification course named Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH) in Industrial Health approved by Directorate General Factory Advice Service & Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India
It also offers Dissertation/Summer Training to the candidates pursuing their masters’ degree.

For AFIH certification program, candidates must have obtained a MBBS Degree from an Institution recognised by the Medical Council of India. The selection of candidates to AFIH certification program will be done on the basis of the order of preference.
Those looking to pursue Dissertation/Summer Training at the institute should be pursuing a master degree in any of the prescribed courses such as- M Sc./MPH/M V Sc./M Tech./MCA/M Pharm, etc. The candidates with good academic performance are preferred for the Dissertation/Summer Training program at the institute.
Admission to the dissertation program is granted on the basis of merit.

Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH) is a three months full time Post Graduate Certificate course in Industrial Health approved by Directorate General Factory Advice Service & Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.
On completion of course, an examination will be conducted by DGFASLI. The candidates successful in clearing the examination will be awarded a certification of Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH) which fulfils the requirements of additional qualification for Factory Medical Officers of Hazardous Process Industries as required under the Factories (Amendment) Act 1987.

The list of candidates selected for dissertation / summer training will be based on percentages of B.Sc. and M.Sc. (1st year) marks, laboratory experience, soft skills such as writing capacity in English, communication skills, scientific data extraction and area of research interest
