  • Students work with faculty versed in artistic-research methodologies and draw on expertise from across the university for interdisciplinary experiences.
  • Students will develop a level of proficiency, self-direction, and focus through investigating a proposed area of research, and will be encouraged to produce work of an original and speculative nature.
  • In the first year, the coordinator in the area of specialization is the supervisor for the MFA student and is responsible for assigning the grade for studio research work.
  • In the second year, students work closely with a thesis supervisor.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must have a four-year undergraduate degree in a relevant field with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 out of 4.0 in the last 2 years (approximately 60 credits) of post-secondary study.
  • If English is not the student's first language then they must provide proof of English competency.

Indian Student Eligibility:  

  • Students require an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution with 60% First Class Standing/Division.
