- Energy systems engineering is a critical area in need of innovation and highly qualified personnel.
- The demand for sustainable energy, as well as the environmental concerns of traditional techniques require significant innovation in energy systems engineering.
- This program is inter-disciplinary. It addresses the complexity and required expertise in several technical disciplines by the industry.
- Students must complete 30 credit hours of course work, which includes five core courses, three elective courses and a six-credit-hour project to be completed over the last two semesters of the program.
- There are two streams:
- The Energy Conversion Technical Stream is designed for students with an engineering degree in mechanical, chemical, industrial or in a related discipline from a university of recognized standing.
- The Power Systems Technical Stream is designed for students with a degree in electrical engineering or in a related discipline from a university of recognized standing.
