- Students are required to present a thesis which embodies the results of independent work that the candidate has completed and demonstrates competence in Mechanical Engineering. An oral defence of the thesis is required.
- In addition, all full-time M.A.Sc. students are required to successfully complete 4 offerings of MECHENG 758 graduate seminars in Mechanical Engineering.
- The Department of Mechanical Engineering admits new students for each term (Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer) with our largest intake being in September (Fall term).

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must comlete an honours Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in a related field (engineering or science) from a recognized university.
- A Minimum average of B- grade in all upper-year undergraduate courses related to proposed program of study is required.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Or, completed a 3-year UG degree must have a substantial background in engineering or a related field.
Submission of GRE scores is not compulsory for this program, however, if students have given the GRE exam then it is recommended to submit the scores (minimum 300) for a better chance of admission.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
