I want to be a teacher and the York University concurrent education program is much easier for me to achieve that goal. I was always interested in applying because it's a university somewhat close to home, but it became my number 1 choice when I heard about the program from a friend. I also applied for York's sociology program and Ryerson's sociology program.

My friends were already doing their bachelors so they told me about this university, york university is very reputed and it has a good campus, I used to live very close by to the university campus. Easy to get into the university and I got good transfer credit there so I applied into this particular university.

I got to know about York through doing my research- online portals, forums (Iconic, Reddit), etc. The admission process was pretty straightforward, there was a common portal for all the schools in Ontario. The application fee was mentioned online. I applied to a total of 5 universities and I chose York for the reasons that- the business school, Schulich, is considered prestigious in Canada. I have always wanted to live in a big city, hence, the location of York was a plus. I studied under CBSE in India and I chose commerce stream with Math. I scored 93.4% overall in grade 12, which was enough to retain my offer here.

Psychologists work in many areas of society such as business, health, education and sport. They use scientific methods and knowledge about the human mind and behaviour to help deal with practical problems. Therefore, I wanted to study this program from York University.

Education program - I wanted to become a teacher and at the time it was closest to my home address. It offered the program I wanted and fit conveniently in with my lifestyle. A lot of students from my high school went off to this university.

My program was only offered here and at UTM and heard UTM has high dropout rate so I went to York. But all the programs were accredited so I thought I can focus on extracurricular activies and work while studying which is another reason I picked york.

Close to home. I commute from my house each day. The program also allows for me to choose what I would like to do. I would return for the teachers and professors. There was only one other option in the city.
