Bioinformatics focuses on the unique issues that occur when students apply computers to biological systems. During the course of their studies, they will receive comprehensive training in computer science, mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology. Much of students learning will occur while actively working on problems in class, during tutorials, and in the laboratory.
Students have global opportunities to work in pharmaceutical industries, biotechnology, genomics, genetics, business administration, and more. This degree can also be used as a stepping-stone to graduate studies or another professional degree such as law, medicine, veterinary medicine, or architecture.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- All India Senior School Certificate; Higher Secondary School Certificate; Intermediate Certificate; Indian School Certificate (12 Year).
- A minimum of 70% Alberta Mathematics 30-1 (or equivalent) is required.
- Only one of Art, Dance, Drama or Music can be used in calculating the admission average.
- Equivalent International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP) courses, or SAT2 subject tests are accepted.

You can apply for the M.Eng Chemical and Petroleum Engineering proghram of the University of Calgary if you have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree in chemical or petroleum engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
