Studied at University of Calgary

The Schulich School of Engineering of Calgary is pretty famous and is known for its petroleum engineering program, so if this is the field you want to pursue you can definitely consider it. It is also a research-oriented university and presently ranks 6th in Canada in terms of sponsored research funding. It's even better if you plan to go for research as it is in the Top 5 in Canada for research performance.

Job opportunities after you complete the MEng Chemical and Petroleum Engineering are Process Engineer, Petroleum Production Engineer, etc and the average salary goes up to 78,682 USD.

What's important to note is that Calgary owns a majority of petroleum companies in Canada which gives you easy access to many great internships and seminars in the industry. It is very well known in Canada but relatively less known in the world, however it still is a great option for those planning to study and work in Canada.

The program is course-based, which is designed to give you a mix of advanced chemical and petroleum engineering courses. You can expand your career in following sectors:

  • Energy and petrochemical
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Food Products
  • Fertilizers and Synthetic materials etc

The requirements of admission at this program are not too difficult either as previous year entrance required a grade between 85 to 89%. So you can definitely consider this place and plan a career in petroleum engineering.

If you are applying for a Master of Nursing at University of Calgary the eligibility criteria are as follows.

  • You need to be eligible for active nursing registration in Alberta. Students registered to pursue this program need to provide proof of active CARNA registration or equivalent each year.
  • To be a registered nurse, you need to complete a four-year bachelor’s degree usually in Nursing along with a one-year undergraduate course in Research Methodology or Statistics.
  • You also need to complete a CPR certification at Basic Rescuer or Basic Cardiac Life Support or ‘C’ level.
  • You need to have completed two years of full-time study (10 courses or 60 units) with a GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 point scale.

Also, since you are from a non-English speaking country, you will also need to prove English proficiency through a valid IELTS/TOFEL/any other equivalent test score.
