Concordia Montreal Review

IM
8.8 /10

Montreal is always topping among the best student city in the world. The John Molson Business school is one with a great co-op program! Plus, we have several big firms in Montreal which is good to secure internships. The professors are great too!

Course Curriculum :

The Course Curriculum is really Hectic! As they go in Bisin right away and you have limited liberal choices for your course - the school for the business minded people! Also, teaching you a bachelor in communication is teaching you a myriad of courses from marketing to organizational behavior. Finance is my major though I'm minoring in real estate too.

Exams :

The exams with the scores are: SAT - 1470, IELTS - 8, A levels - Economics A*, Accounting A, Mathematics A*, General paper a, French Language A

Internship :

Yes. The internship is the co-op program in association with a pool of firms. Also, the program is mostly subsidized by the school. Often, on the field visits to other companies are given. Others come for talks or exposition down the school lobby itself!

Events :

Frosh week is one of the best! You get to party around Montreal in summer for the first week of your first year! I lived in Concordia's student residence for the first year and they held several activities from midnight breakfast to paintball!

Fees :

For an international student, the fees at JMSB is $25000. Count an extra $15000-20000 for a good Montreal lifestyle.

Scholarship :

No, I didn't apply for any scholarship. But, you are automatically considered for an entrance scholarship.

Examination Structure :

It consists mostly of midterms, group projects, and finals. Our grades are divided into different components. For math-based courses, we have several midterms and tests half of the grade and the finals for the other. For theory based ones you have group projects which is a semester long!

Faculty :

Jmsb, in general, is in the heart of downtown. It is also a postgrad school. So expect people running around in suits. The professors are experienced from lawyers to directors of startups!

Hostel :

I moved to a Concordia owned residence for my first year. To be honest, the residence food is not that great. The dorm is awesome! Right downtown, perfect old charming (and creepy) residence accommodating 600+ students.
