I live in Ottawa so queens are close to my house and I can come home frequently without breaking the bank. Also, the family can come to visit me. I also love living away from home because it gives me the freedom to do whatever I want.
Course Curriculum
The first year is not too hard but I heard it gets harder. It is a lot of review of grade 12 and 11 sciences and maths. I am having trouble with calculus. I feel like high school did not prepare me well for that but otherwise, I am doing great.
Fees
I was charged for tuition, residence and of course textbooks. Fees, residence and meal plan are paid together whereas textbooks you have to buy on your own. I went to a store on campus where you can buy used textbooks for a cheaper price.
Examination Structure
The exams are mostly worth 40-60%. There is a lot of multiple-choice but the multiple-choice is very hard. The teachers do a good job of preparing us for what we will see on the exams. There were very few surprises on the exams that I have taken.
Faculty
I am in the arts and sciences faculty. I don't mind the faculty overall the teachers are pretty solid. The only thing that I find weird is that arts and sciences are in the same faculty. They are extremely different so it is weird being in the same faculty.
