Queen's - Courses and tution fee

L
6.2 /10

Parents went there. Was originally in the con-Ed program, one of few in the province. It was far away from home while being less than a day?s travel. Cost of living was much lower than home, and it had a vibrant queer community.

Course Curriculum :

Curriculum was comprehensive, and offered a wide range of subjects within mathematics. Everything from actuary studies to complex analysis to game theory was offered as courses. Professor quality varied.

Exams :

Only U level Highschool courses in grade 12. No external exams required for admittance to the university.

Fees :

Basic student fees for transit pass, insurance, gym membership, student government. Courses were included in tuition fees, dropped courses by a certain date are refunded. Textbooks are often expensive, though some profs will use older versions that can be bought secondhand.

Examination Structure :

Exams are often worth 50% of the course grade. Accommodations can be made. Almost all classes also include a midterm exam of some type. Usually practical application or stating of theories, depending on the course.

Faculty :

Professor quality varied wildly. Plenty of profs were willing to give extra explanations and answer questions during tutorials, while several refused to answer questions and lectured through tutorials.
