  • Medical physicists are employed in the fields of radiotherapy, medical imaging, nuclear medicine, and associated research and regulatory divisions of non-hospital institutions.
  • Students will develop the skills to critically evaluate and optimize the performance of medical equipment and procedures and use their problem-solving abilities to analyse outputs, diagnose problems and provide quality assurance for patient treatments.
  • Using their initiative together with a high degree of independence, they will be instrumental in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and in the translation of research into professional practice.
  • Medical physicists are important advisors to their team of professionals who often include oncologists, radiologists, therapists, technologists, and biomedical engineers.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Applicants must have successfully completed an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in a physical science, biomedical engineering disciplines having substantial physics and mathematics components, with a minimum average of 60%/Credit or a GPA of at least 2.0 (out of 4.0).

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Requirement for this program: Students must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 (or equivalent senior secondary school qualification) with a minimum 65% average
  • Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
