The University of Queensland offers a Master of Science in Mental Health Nursing for a duration of 1.5 years.
It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
The program is designed to provide an advanced understanding of the theories, legislation, policies, and standards that underpin specialist mental health care.
Students will undertake approximately 200 hours of supervised clinical practice.
The sample courses of the program include:

- Application of specialist mental health nursing skills in mental health practice
Students will develop practical skills that promote safe nursing practice and management of risk in a clinical setting.

During their placements, students will have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge acquired through coursework to practice and develop their clinical skills in a real-life setting.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and have completed university-level studies in human anatomy, human physiology, and introductory psychology.
A GPA of at least 4.0 on a 7 point scale is required to be eligible for this program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:

Completed a 4-year bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
Students must hold a GPA of 4 (60%) on a 7 point scale.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
