Central Queensland University, the only institute with campuses in every mainland state, is a public university. It has seen commendable growth in recent years and is ranked one of the top 600 universities worldwide for higher education in Australia. More than 30,000 students out of which 5,000 international students are enrolled in the university from over 70 countries to study in Australia. The university offers more than 300 programs for diploma, UG, PG and doctoral degrees in study areas of Business & Accounting, Health, Law, Agriculture, Psychology, Performing Arts and others.

Admission at CQU is via the university online portal and is accepted for three Terms. Candidates for 2023 admissions can apply for Term 3 till October 25. A good academic record, LOR, SOP, and enough finances are assessed by the admission team before enrolling students. IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 75 is essential as proof of English language proficiency. Two years of full-time secondary or tertiary diploma level qualification or a UG qualification with an overall GPA of 4.0 is mandatory for undergraduate courses of Central Queensland University.

Central Queensland University Admission Deadlines

The university enrols students’ through three Terms. Application deadlines for undergraduate and postgraduate courses for 2023 are only open for Term 3. For 2023 students can apply for Term 1 as of now, The application deadline for Term 1, 2023 is closed. Below are the deadlines for 2023.

Central Queensland University Undergraduate Admissions

Central Queensland University offers a number of UG courses in different fields. Online as well as on-campus courses are available. Candidates can apply via online mode. The basic requirements for all the courses are the same. However, there are some specific requirements that differ with the course as well.

Admission Requirements: The following documents have to be provided by the applicants at the time of admission:

Secondary qualification or tertiary diploma level qualification or UG qualification study for a period of at least 2 years full-time with an overall GPA of 4.0.
Transcripts of all academic institutions attended previously.
Letters of Recommendation
Minimum competitive rank as mentioned on the website.
International students need to prove English language proficiency by submitting their English Language Proficiency Test scores.
SOP, portfolio or resume may be required for certain specific courses.

English Proficiency Tests Score Requirements

All the international applicants who do not have English as their first language or who have not received a degree from an institute where the primary language is English need to prove their proficiency in English by submitting their TOEFL, IELTS or other test scores that are tabulated below.

All those applicants who do not fulfil the given requirements can apply to study one of the tests of the English language. Entry to an academic course may be granted upon successful completion of the course.

Visa Process for International Students

International applicants can apply for a study visa to study in Australia after the offer of admission into CQU. It is recommended that students should apply for the visa at least 6 weeks before the course starts. Visa application is made online through ImmiAccount.The application fee is around 620 AUD for subclass 500. International students need to share proof of sufficient funds which is 62,222 AUD for a single student.

Documents required to apply for the student permit are:

Offer letter from the college.
Passport.
Proof of financial support.
Overseas Student Health Insurance
Visa processing fee.
For the students who are below 18 years of age, student welfare has to be maintained for the duration of their stay.

Central Queensland University Graduate Admissions

CQU offers PG degrees to students in the fields of Accounting, Business, Law, Engineering, Health and others. A good UG degree is a must to get enrolled in the master’s program. However, each course has a few specific admission requirements that are tabulated below.

Master of Human Resource Management	UG from Australian University or equivalent or CQ University Graduate Certificate in Management or equivalent or CQUniversity Graduate Diploma of HRM or equivalent
Masters of Financial Planning	Australian UG degree, or equivalent qualification or Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, or equivalent or Diploma of Financial Planning, or equivalent; 5 years of work experience, current registration as a certified practising financial planner.
Masters of Engineering	Completion of a UG degree from a recognised higher education institution with a final two-term average comparable to an Australian pass grade.
Masters of Business	UG degree from a recognized higher education institution with an equivalent of the Australian average pass grade, in the final two terms. Official secondary school GPA transcripts of 3.0. A median total ATAR score of 91.7 and a total school leaver score of 95.5. GMAT is necessary
Masters of Information Technology	UG degree from an Australian university or equivalent; a secondary qualification or a full two-year full-time UG degree with a minimum GPA 4.0 overall.

A Uni for me

Overview:

A friend of mine already attended this University and spoke highly of it. Mum wanted to move away from our home town, and the University had a campus in an area we liked. Out of 4-5 Universities, I applied to, this one was my first preference based on the above information, and they accepted me. As it was my first preference, the way the QTAC application system worked meant I only received their offer.

Overview:

Have a good reputation with employers and the course fee is lesser than the other universities for the same course. Also, situated in the CBD area which is the center of the city and one can get plenty of part-time job opportunities.

Cqu life review

Overview:

I had always been set on Central Queensland University as it had a great reputation and one of my family members had also attended. CQU was the only university that offered the medical sonography course for undergraduates so I could do the course I wanted without doing radiology first.
