Deakin University, Australia recently announced its Vice Chancellor’s Meritorious Scholarship program for 2022. The program will offer a 100% waiver on tuition fees to four Indian students with excellent academic records for the duration of their course. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible to apply for this financial aid program.
India shares a partnership of over 28 years with Deakin University resulting in collaboration on research and education in a number of disciplines. As part of this partnership, Deakin University established the ‘Changing Lives’ initiative in 2014. The initiative acknowledges students in India who have exceptional academic records and the potential to contribute significantly to Deakin University and the country.

The Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Scholarship program was launched as part of this “Changing Lives’ Program with the aim to financially support Indian students who have consistently maintained exceptional academic records over the years. Till now, the Initiative has awarded around 35 scholarships to promising Indian students.
While talking about the Scholarship, Iain Martin, vice-chancellor of Deakin University, commented that Deakin is dedicated to supporting Indian students who had aspirations to pursue a high-quality international education.
“For almost three decades, Deakin’s relationship with India has been a very successful one, achieving great outcomes for Indian students and their communities. This is a priority for us – helping students gain the skills that will make a real difference to their communities In India,” he added.

Applications are currently open for this Scholarship. However, the University recommends that student submit their scholarship application one month before commencing their studies. Deakin University follows a stringent selection procedure for Vice-Chancellor’s meritorious Scholarship Program.
This includes application review, referee recommendations and presentations/interviews. The interview or presentation will take place in front of a panel of impartial members representing both industry and academia. Applicants should also have an overall score of 85% or above in their CBSE/ICSE/State Board Year 12 final examination.
