Deakin College is a celebrated pathway provider to a Deakin University degree. It offers quality foundation programs, diploma programs and Masters qualifying programs to over 70 undergraduate and postgraduate Deakin University courses. Over 3,000 students are part of the Deakin College family out of which 60% are international seeking to study in Australia. The College follows a semester-based calendar and invites applications for March, June and October. International students interested to get admission at Deakin College can only apply now for the third semester till October 2021. 

Applications are accepted directly via the online portal or via an admission agent. It is compulsory for every candidate to share the official transcripts, health cover, passport, visa, and birth certificate. In case a student wants to work in Australia, a resume and proof of work experience is mandatory to have. Candidates can share an IELTS score of 5.5 to prove their skills in English. The course fee of the popular programs at Deakin College is around 13,700 AUD to 29,900 AUD. One needs to incur at least between 15 AUD to 440 AUD as a cost of living.

Deakin College Programs

Deakin College provides foundation programs, diploma programs and Masters Qualifying Programs that aid students to get admission at Deakin University. The programs offered are in the subject areas of Business, Communication, Construction Management, Engineering, Health Sciences, Information Technology and others.

Foundation Programs

  • The Foundation program is equivalent to upper secondary school (year 12). 
  • It aims at preparing students for a diploma program at Deakin College or entry into the first year of certain Deakin University bachelor degrees.
  • An extended foundation program is available for students who do not meet the general qualifiers of the program.
  • The foundation programs are offered at the Melbourne campus and Geelong Waterfront campus. These programs are of a duration of 8 months, and 12 months for extended students.

Diploma Program

  • Deakin College offers diploma programs in business, commerce, communication, design, engineering, health sciences, science and others.
  • The diploma programs are of a duration of 8 to 12 months.
  • The diploma programs attempt to prepare the students for a direct entry into the second year of a Deakin University bachelor's degree.

Masters Qualifying Program

  • The Masters Qualifying Programs (MQP) offers a quality pathway to selected Deakin University postgraduate programs in Business and Law.
  • These programs are only available to international students.
  • The MQP is a non-award program designed to foster international students whose academic qualifications and English proficiency levels are well below the entry requirements into a master's program.
  • The MQPs are offered in the Melbourne Burwood campus and are of a duration of four months.

Deakin College Campus and Accommodations

Deakin College has three college campuses located in the state of Victoria; one in metropolitan Melbourne and the other two are on the beachfront of Geelong. These college sites are within the Deakin University premises, with full access to university services and facilities. Deakin College has a fourth campus in Central Jakarta for international students. The college also has an accommodation facility for its incoming students with the option of a single studio apartment, a shared apartment for two or more people and 10 bedrooms shared unit.

  • The college has over 120 clubs and societies that include sports clubs, cultural clubs, social clubs and academic clubs. One can also find religious societies like the Christian Union Burwood and the Islamic Society of Deakin.

Deakin College Application Process

Applicants can apply directly through the Deakin College website or through an overseas agent in their native country. The application form and all needed papers must be submitted in order for the procedure to be completed post which one will get a provisional offer letter. After receiving clearance for the conditional submissions, the institution will eventually give the students an unconditional offer letter.

English Proficiency Test Score for International Students

The English language test score accepted by the university varies as per course. The test appeared should not be older than two years. Below are the minimum scores one needs to gain.
